The End, and Beyond

Once the reunions are made and the dead are sent off, there leaves only one thing left to do: Initiation. Everyone who isn't already an agent is quickly entered into the system by Red, who is rushing to finish all of this work before their time runs out. Because once the clock hits '0', it's go time.

Helicopters fly in and land in the field. Some men in black uniforms come out, but they're not here to harm the campers. Instead, they're waving everyone over, indicating that they should get in.

Before they load up, Red turns back to everyone and gives them a few quick words. She explains that the road ahead of them is a long one, and that working for the Foundation won't always be easy. That they will face death many times, and that they will face horrors they never could have expected. But that somewhere, on the other side of it all, there's hope.

Maybe they can make things better for people like them, brought into this world without being asked.

Maybe they can stop the senseless sacrifice.

Maybe they can fix things.

It's a lot of 'maybes', but it's a hope that they'll have to carry with them. Hope and friendship are going to have to propel them forward from here on out.

But hey, they survived one containment procedure. Maybe they'll do alright.

[It's not quite the best outcome, but Gonta's happy his torment is finally over. No more having to find dead bodies and try to find the friend who killed them. No more being helpless to do anything but watch.

From now, he has a chance to protect everyone. And that's what's keeping him together.

On the helicopter ride over, Gonta decides to entertain folks with simple conversation. That's what a gentleman does, right?]
