post-trial garbage feelings
[ The campfire is still roaring. S'mores supplies are hanging around the area. There's still a faint scent of copper on the air, for those who can really recognize it.
Leon is leaning against Mami on one of the logs around the fire. He's been acting like he's uncaring-- and a lot of it stems from bitterness that this happened to him and he had to watch it AGAIN. But he's calmed down now. He actually looks rather peaceful, if a bit weathered.
There's also now a pizza sitting on another nearby seat. It's cheese and a little cold. ]
Spell didn't work. Delivery man practically blinked out of existence. I thought I'd try since... look at all of us now.
[ That's all he murmurs. Join the campfire? ]

Because we can make it different. Look, I get it. I thought I had to be out for myself, too. I tried to walk away and stick my head up my own ass and ignore that people needed me. And my best friends almost died. If I hadn't gone back, it wouldn't have just been them: eventually I would've died, too.
[he looks over his shoulder at the tired, sad faces around the fire]
C'mon, man. Once you get out of here ... you can do whatever you want. But ... for now ...
[he holds out a hand]
Can you at least trust me?

When people talk about trust and friendship, Boa usually assumes they know nothing. They've never suffered or been in danger. They're incapable of understanding him and unworthy of his mere consideration.
This isn't like that. Now that they regained their buried memories, the boys he's sitting with understand perfectly what it means to struggle for survival. It gives credit to words that should never have any credit at all.
After an inappropriately long pause, Boa just gets up. ]
...I'll try.
[ It's the best he can give and shaking the hand when he can't give a proper agreement feels dishonest. Even considering Richie's point of view is a huge step for Boa. He turns to walk off, unless he's stopped. ]

Thanks...!
