[that night, after a KO'd Eddie has been brought back to Cabin 3 to recuperate and everyone has scattered, Richie returns to the campfire with a book tucked under his arm, and a flashlight. he's not thinking about bringing supplies for s'mores, or hot dogs, or burgers, or any of that, not this week. so if anyone wants to show up with food, they're welcome. if anyone has appetites.

this week, he's focused on the remnants of a word he scribbled in the dirt earlier, flipping through the book he found on Thursday. he exhales, slowly, looking like he might just be sick all over again, no matter how tired he is. the makeshift scarf Cielo made him is draped over his shoulders to keep away any evening chill]

Oh, God. I ... I know what they said, you guys.

[ Seeing Mitsuru bring food to the group surprises Boa immensely, but it also makes him realize he's actually really hungry. He moved over to grab one of those water bottles and also some snacks. ]

I think I'm getting used to the sights to be able to eat this soon after.

[ He's not sure if that's a good thing, but it's not bad for certain. ]

If this continues, you'll likely be just fine after the executions eventually.

[After a certain point, you're just... desensitized. Possibly that could be a bad thing, but Mitsuru's not lingering on it for long, because he does need to keep his body going and food is necessary for that.

So, he'll take a swig from his water bottle.]

I assume so. I'm also not entirely sure what more you could do to bodies that might be most disgusting than what I've already seen.

[ He takes a bite of food. ]

That's a silver lining to all these brains.

Hopefully if anyone decides to try this again, they'll refrain from unnecessary gore while they're at it.

I'd appreciate it. I don't really care about death, but at home people die... cleaner.

If you die of exertion, you tend to just collapse. It's not bloody at all.

Often the overseers brought people out and they just weren't seen again, too.

[ Whether or not they died is any Beyblade viewer's guess, but it's what Boa was told about them. ]

That would make sense.

[...Inasmuch as putting forth so much effort into a sport makes.]

It wasn't usually this bad in Vision, but circumstances were much different there, too.

Magical injuries, I assume?

[ That also sounds a lot cleaner. Magic is so nicely precise - or that is Boa's impression at the moment. ]

No. The bandits were far more likely to slit your throat and be done with it.

That's harmless.

[ He pauses, realizing what he just said, then decides that there are worse people to call a murder 'harmless' to than Mitsuru. ]

People here need to take a page out of their book. It's not like gore gives any bonus points.

Even with Red tampering with the scene, I imagine there are limits to what she can do so the evidence remains.

[So like, hopefully she wouldn't add too much gore, either.]

Red's been claiming that she put Chloe up in the flag out of respect, to cover her... or something. So I imagine that other than the thing with the Pastor, she's at least not keen on mutilating us--

Actually, considering the executions, I'm not sure if I should take that back.

Not mutilating us personally, perhaps?

[But wildlife maulings are fine.]

All of this and she still doesn't want to get her hands too dirty.

I know she has orders she can't avoid following, but that's still ridiculous.

Sometimes I think I'd like her better if she wasn't this wishy-washy about it.

She's trying to protect everyone from something she has to follow the commands of.

Considering how he seemed earlier today... Red's not going to be able to stop him from realizing this forever.

This is the third week. How long, I wonder, will it take before it finally gets through to him...?
