WEEK 4
Another week begins at camp, though it comes with a bit of a somber note. More than a third of the campers have died or gone missing, leaving a noticeable absence in camp. With five gone in one week, will anyone really be able to make it the full eight weeks? That is yet to be seen.
The weather has dipped a little, going down to the mid-70s. At least the pastier kids won't have to worry about sunburns, right? Though the waves coming off the lake have been starting to get a little high. And the RVs have changed once more, though anyone with a keen eye might notice that some of them look familiar...
The Wii is gone, and in its place is a shiny new WiiU, now sporting Bayonetta 2 and Splatoon in addition to the Wii games left behind. Unfortunately, there's no internet, so you're stuck with single player mode only. Leon, Mami, Clarke, Kon, and Natsume are now gone from the Mii menu, and the music has changed again.
This week there seems to be a baseball diamond set up in the field, and there will probably be sports-themed activities later on. But with only 18 living campers left, will anyone really be in the mood for some games?

Boa grins widely as Richie approaches. ]
Yep! And a third, thanks to... whatever thing is going on with powers.

[he flops down next to the arena]
But I - I don't wanna think about that right now.
[he heard Talcott. he doesn't know what to think about that, or how to feel, and it's confusing, and it hurts. the Beys are the perfect distraction]
I wanna learn how to play this.

And anyway, Beyblading is like... way cooler anyway. Way more important. Boa places a Beyblade in Richie's hands. ]
Here, that's Rising Ragnaruk. It's the one I used before I got my recent one. The idea is just to have it either last longer than the opponent's bey or to burst the other person - bursting means that the Bey falls apart into its three parts.

[Richie turns it over in his hands, glad for the distraction]
It's really cool looking. The bits on the top are like water or something. .... So, last one standing wins. Got it. Kinda like dodgeball. So how do you burst it?
no subject
[ He takes his own Beyblade and turns the top layer to cause exactly this effect. It very neatly comes apart into three parts. ]
A Burst is two points. If you kick the other out of the stadium or if they stop spinning, that's one point. Whoever gets two points first wins.

So it's a little bit like how we played marbles, in Derry. With that, you have to knock the other player's piece out of a circle, too. But the pieces don't move for that.

[ Boa pieces his Beyblade back together and grins. ]
You just wanna give it a try?
no subject
[what a silly question, Boa. he's grinning like mad - this is an amazing distraction from the Suck that is losing three people over the weekend]
How do I make it go?
no subject
He hands Richie a launcher, then picks up his own launcher and places the Bey in it for demonstration. ]
You pull the cord with as much force as you can to give it a lot of energy. The official count-down is "3, 2, 1, go shoot" with "shoot" being the word you launch at, so both participants start at the same time.
no subject
[he fixes up his Bey in the launcher, making sure he does it exactly the same way Boa did.]
Okay. Now we put them both in the big bowl thing, right?
no subject
[ Normally Boa would get up to launch, but kneeling before the stadium is an easier way of launching for beginners and since Boa knows he is far outranking anyone in the camp in skill anyway, he might as well handicap himself by also doing a launch he uses less frequently. ]
Let's just try then. 3... 2... 1...
no subject
Go shoot!
[he yanks on the cord as hard as he can, then watches, eyes flickering back and forth between both Beys as they zip into the arena]
no subject
Both of the Beys run circles in the stadium that quickly grow smaller as they each approach the center. ]
That's a steady spin, not too bad for a start.
[ Boa remarks with a smile.
The Beys make contact know, knocking into each other with metallic clanks as they fight for the center. ]

C'mon ... c'mon... ...

Richie's bey is the one to successfully claim the center, but then...
Boa's bey hits against it, something clicks inside it, and as the bey goes back up the slope of the stadium...
Boa grins. ]
Final Crush!
[ And for a moment it's as if the bey is glowing... probably just a trick of the light though? But it accelerates when it comes back down towards the center and... kicks Richie's out. It lands in the grass next to Richie with a heavy thud. ]
