WEEK 4
Another week begins at camp, though it comes with a bit of a somber note. More than a third of the campers have died or gone missing, leaving a noticeable absence in camp. With five gone in one week, will anyone really be able to make it the full eight weeks? That is yet to be seen.
The weather has dipped a little, going down to the mid-70s. At least the pastier kids won't have to worry about sunburns, right? Though the waves coming off the lake have been starting to get a little high. And the RVs have changed once more, though anyone with a keen eye might notice that some of them look familiar...
The Wii is gone, and in its place is a shiny new WiiU, now sporting Bayonetta 2 and Splatoon in addition to the Wii games left behind. Unfortunately, there's no internet, so you're stuck with single player mode only. Leon, Mami, Clarke, Kon, and Natsume are now gone from the Mii menu, and the music has changed again.
This week there seems to be a baseball diamond set up in the field, and there will probably be sports-themed activities later on. But with only 18 living campers left, will anyone really be in the mood for some games?

Then a door opens, and another scientist walks in. This new scientist is the first one to speak up.]
Still working at that body? Honestly, that one is a dead end.
[Mayuri sounds irritated as he speaks.]
It is not a dead end. Minor setbacks are to be expected when you’re working on immortality.
This ‘minor setback’ has gone on for nearly two years at this point. You’re getting heat put on you, aren’t you?
[Mayuri waves the newcomer off.]
Sixty years is far longer than the first models had. I will break that barrier eventually. Bodies in my world could last for centuries without needing to be replaced. It is merely a matter of recreating those same circumstances. For now, those fools will have to be satisfied with switching every sixty years.
[The newcomer chuckles.]
Have you thought about my offer?
I have. As interesting as it is, I do not work on equal terms with others. If you would like to be my subordinate I will gladly welcome you to my ranks. But ‘sharing information’ won’t happen.
Suit yourself. We could accomplish a lot more together, though. You might even have more time to devote to that pet project of yours.
[Mayuri sneers at that.]
I have my standards, you know.
So you would ask others to be subordinate to you, but not the other way around?
Of course not. I worked long and hard for the rank I have, I won’t be giving it up so easily. Not when there are more experiments to run.
[As the film ends, the light shifts in just the right way to draw notice to a small paperweight on a nearby desk.
A paperweight made out of Petoskey stone.]

Immortality...?

[It's somehow unsurprising that this weird clown would be pursuing something like that, macabre-looking experiments and all. He doesn't recognize the other man... but what are the deets on the body? Anything stand out or any recognizable traits? That Petoskey stone is also getting the side-eye, for sure.]

like a generic body. Weird!]

How generic are we talking: generic as in not a recognizable character, or generic as in hot off the assembly line noticeably uncanny generic?]

[He points it out]
Too smooth, kinda bland... like a dress up doll.

[Especially when you compare it to the actual people on the screen, uncanny valley as they are, it just doesn't track.]
What are you thinking?

It might not be a dead body.

[He doesn't actually know how long they last, on average. They probably won't be here long enough to find out, one way or another. He doesn't know how exactly this is related to the dead, but he doesn't particularly like the picture they're already getting.]

... Sounds... sounds a lot like dey messin' wid somethin' dey shouldn't be.

Guys. [His voice is serious, even if the outfit probably isn't helping.]
When I was on Red's phone that day, I did a bunch of searches that led to an article about petoskey stones. You know, the zombie stones.
Not sure what exactly it means but it can't be a coincidence that the article stated that they found a massive stone like that back in September of 1955 in Lake Michigan. The article then said the Michigan Department of Natural Resources confiscated it in December 1955.
[A beat.]
When i tried googling where the stone is now, the internet crashed and refused to boot up again. ....But I think we pretty much have an answer.

It's even possible they unsealed something that they have no idea how to seal up once more.

[Just a thought, but really Lance shares similar opinions with Usagi on this one.]
I guess some people just can't let things be when they think there's an opportunity for more. Zarkon and the Galra are like that too.
no subject
...They hurt so many people for this.
[ She's clenching a fist. ]
...We'll punish them, Lance.
[ In the name of the mooooon ]

We got this.

[They're videos connected somehow to the hunters, it seems, and she definitely hadn't been aware of the contents of the last one. Coupled with what Big Blue had told them today and some of the things they'd learned this week... How much does Red know, really? How much does she need to know?
And there's something else, about the numbers.]
Big Blue said this has been going on for 50 years.
no subject
Does anyone actually know what year it is here? Like... I know we all came from different years and different worlds. If they found that shit in the fifties, and it's been going on for fifty years... couldn't it have been going on since they found it?
