INVESTIGATION

As you wake up, you'll realize that your powers have returned to you. For some, this is a joyous occasion...but even with them returned, it's only a grim reminder of the reality of the situation -

- that one of your fellow campers have committed murder.

Someone is dead. It's up to you to find out who...and to gather evidence for it.

[ Just going to give him a light nudge with his knuckles, but not going to say anything. Kanji is-

[Ichigo looks over, before closing his eyes and nodding.

It's alright. He didn't know Kanji that well, just -

He's getting used to knowing that anything he does is useless.]

...Things are...going to be rough, tomorrow.

[ He'll deflate at that. He didn't even think about what kind of shit storm tomorrow will be. ]

Definitely not looking forward to that, yo.

[ He considers something for a moment before dropping his hand. ]

Dammit.

I don't think anyone is.

[There's only 17 of them left, and too many weeks left to go.]

But...it's got to be done.

[If they don't want to all die, that is.]

[ Gritting his teeth and looking at the rv park. He doesn't want anyone to die...

They already lost a lot of people. And he's already thinking of who is left and where accusations might be thrown towards. ]

Hey, do me a favor will you?

[Ichigo looks at him, a little questioningly.]

Yeah? What is it?

Vote for me if people think the kids are involved.

[ He's still staring away like he's thinking of trying something stupid. ]

...

[Ichigo says nothing for a moment....

And then he raises a fist and punches nine in the face.]

[ The punch connects and he honestly wasn't expecting it. Biting the inside of his mouth while his head goes to the side. ]

Hey, what the hell?!

[ Looking at Ichigo and he has a moment where he wants to hit back. He squeezes his fists closed, but he doesn't move. ]

You weren't going to vote for me when Kon was the guilty party, were you?

[He stares at Nine, resolutely - instead of the sad person he's been these past few weeks, it's like there's a much stronger person he's become.

If I can't protect them, then I will do everything I can to save both the living - and the dead.]

I refuse to vote for you if it comes to that, because - because I won't sacrifice anyone else over this.

[linearcrash]

[ He winces at that. His reasons weren't as noble or anything like that.

Working his jaw muscles, already thinking of arguing until he sees that look. That knocks all arguments and anything else he has to say. Rubbing the back of his neck. Stop giving him reasons to like you, Ichigo. ]

You know, you can be pretty cool at times.

[bladeisme]

Wha-?

[That flusters him for a moment, honestly - blushing a little before shaking his head.]

Th-That has nothing to do with anything! Just - if I'm not allowed to sacrifice myself, then neither are you! Got it?!

[linearcrash]

[ Okay, never mind. This Ichigo is cuter. The corner of his mouth tips up into a smile. ]

Yeah. Yeah, I got it, yo.

[ Ducking his head and trying not to let it show what he's feeling. This is bad. ]

[He gives a huff, crossing his arms before smiling, not noticing Nine lowering his head for doki-related reasons.

He's dense, and I'm sorry.]

Oi, don't thank me. Just -

[And he hits Nine on the shoulder, lightly - playfully.]

-Stay alive, alright? We're going to need you in the coming weeks.

[ He looks up at him, and again he's momentarily stunned. The push gets him back to reality though. Reaching over to push Ichigo in return, without any force. ]

I will. This isn't all just for looks, you know.

[ Gesturing at his chest. If there's anything he's confident in, it's his looks and his ability to kick some ass. ]

I should go, uh, check on the kids.

[ And figure a way to stop the dokis. ]
