WEEK 4 - INVESTIGATION
As you wake up, you'll realize that your powers have returned to you. For some, this is a joyous occasion...but even with them returned, it's only a grim reminder of the reality of the situation -
- that one of your fellow campers have committed murder.
Someone is dead. It's up to you to find out who...and to gather evidence for it.
CAMPERS REMAINING: ???
((We ask that you remain in groups of 2-3! As per usual.))

I do.
[she's always felt that way, just a little bit. but this week. . . it hits closer to home. it isn't quite as bad as the hope she lost when her father died, but. . .]
I don't want to believe my Thursday night patrols are useless.

[There's a pause, and then-]
I still think we should do them. Even if it's just to confirm that our perception is being messed with.
[Another test, to try this hypothesis they've come up with.
All they have is time, after all.]

So many weeks I've offered comfort to you. . . and now, here you are, offering it to me.
I agree. Even if it's just to confirm a hypothesis, we shouldn't give up.

...It's just natural, you know? Comforting someone. Even if I'm not the greatest at it. But - if I can help, then that's alright with me.
[He scratches the back of his head, looking back at her.]
It's - hard not to want to give up here. But...that's the point, isn't it? If we give up, then...we're just playing into what they want.
And I'm done giving them everything they want.
[His eyes look...determined, instead of full of sorrow or pain like they have been.
It's like he's woken up.]

I see.
[her own smile is small, and she ducks her head, pushing her bangs away from her face]
You've found your answer, Kurosaki. That's admirable. It wouldn't be becoming of me to fall behind when you've found the strength to go forward.
no subject
[He's silent for a moment, thinking about that. He wouldn't really call it an answer, honestly - it was more that when he saw her stumble, falter at learning that their patrol hadn't done anything...
He couldn't just let her go through the same things he had, and not be there for her.]
...Yeah. We know that there's a chance - for all of us, and the dead.
They're still here. And even if I have to fight this - Asin-whatever for them, I will.
no subject
Yes. There is. We haven't lost it yet. We won't lose it.
Complete failure is not an option. So long as we can strive to save those souls, wherever they may be, we will win.
no subject
[He breaks into a grin - a strong one, right along that determined look in his eyes, happy that she's regained her footing.]
I'll keep having your back, if you'll have mine. So - let's keep going, for as long as we can.
[He holds out a hand, for her to take.]
As nakama, if you'll accept me.
1/2

[nothing would ever replace SEES in her heart. but SEES taught her the importance of having that family-- that nakama-- and. . . well]
[she extends a hand to take Ichigo's in her own, fingers pressed against his palm]
Of course.
You have my blade and my Evoker, Kurosaki.
no subject
[He's so glad when she gives him her hand, because -
Now, it felt a little more like it did back home. Having people who were willing to be on his side, protect each other, like nakama should -
He should have done this earlier, but he was too focused on trying to prevent deaths, trying to protect everyone when the answer was staring him in the face the entire time.
'You're a shinigami. You protect the living, and the dead. If the dead's souls are still around, then you can do something about this.
Because you've done it before.
And not even Yhwach could stop you for long, because of the friends you'd made.']
And you've got my Zanpakuto, and anything else you need - Kirijo.
[They can do this. They will.
He holds on a little longer, looking into her eyes before letting go and clearing his throat.]
...Yeah. So. Only a couple more weeks to go.
no subject
Only not of course cuz he just got sick earlier and food is a no. But spiritually popcorning.]

Only a few more weeks. And I believe the answers are finally beginning to come together.
[even though she also still thinks they have a long way to go before they finis the puzzle]
