WEEK 5
After the excitement and near-death episode on Sunday, it's almost a relief that Monday comes with only two new zombie friends. Maybe try to make it through this week without getting hurt, hmm? The healers can only do so much.
It's starting to get warm again, and while the temperature itself isn't too unbearable, it's the humidity that's killer. The stormy weather from last week has left plenty of water in the air, and with no air conditioning outside of certain locations (read: Red and Stan's rooms) it's going to be miserable. Swimming might be the best way to cool off.
The WiiU remains, and in addition to the current games there is now a copy of 'Super Smash Bros. Brawl' for you to play! It's even got all the hidden characters unlocked. Have fun! Additionally, Kanji and Lance are now gone from the Mii menu, and a new Mii has appeared. If selected for use, it will just stand there and stare at the screen, like it's staring into the soul of whoever is playing.
In addition to all of this, there is a sense of anxiety around the camp. A 'calm before the storm', so to speak. Something's going to happen this week, and that feeling of dread just can't be shaken.

[But he releases a breath. Trying anyway.]
She was little. Cried a lot. Laughed a lot, too. She always wanted to follow me around, and sometimes I'd get mad, but I didn't mind it too much. She was learning basic letters... She wanted to be able to write names.

For my birthday, probably. Before she died.

For his birthday... before she died.
That puts a lot of things together. Boa doesn't ask for confirmation of the date of that girls death because no matter what, it probably lies within this week and explains a lot about Mitsuru's current mood. Not that it had needed explaining before, camp being what it is, but... more context, anyway. ]
I can imagine well how she must have admired you...
[ That's the one part of this family situation that isn't hard for Boa to picture. ]

If she'd just followed me that day, I would've been annoyed. But in the end, she would've lived.
[A tired sigh, and he leans forward, curling up with his arms around his legs.]
Luck really can mean the difference between life or death.

[ It really is an evening that puts absolutely everything they've talked about in the last few weeks into context. If this were one of his other friends, Boa would hug them now. That comes intuitively by now, Boa has learned it through the many occasions in which comfort had been needed. But he himself still isn't sure if hugs are exactly what he'd ask for himself when sad and he's even less sure if it's what Mitsuru wants or needs. Even if the hand holding had helped before, even then...
So, feeling a little helpless, Boa just shuffles closer until their bodies are touching as they sit next to each other. As much comfort of proximity as he dares to give. ]

The hallucinations haven't been kind to him. He used to think the next time he'd see Aya was upon the success of his journey, alive and warm and breathing once more; instead, what awaited him was this nightmare of a camp, haunting him with images of his family he didn't want to see.
Holding himself together so tightly was all he could manage, but even that takes its toll eventually. So, at the presence of someone else at his side, one of the few he can trust here...
He's still far too alert to sleep, exactly. But he does close his eyes for a moment, relaxing just a little, leaning on Boa ever so slightly. It's the most rest he'll allow himself in this moment, yet so much more than he'd normally give himself around any other.]

When he finds his breath again, he leans into the contact a bit on his own. Not too much, not too obviously... just enough to find comfort in it.
There's still the last fireworks being set off by other campers and Boa keeps his gaze on them to rest the temptation to close his own eyes as well. One of them needs to stay attentive, that's just how camp is, but... something about being like this is calming. ]
