WEEK 5

After the excitement and near-death episode on Sunday, it's almost a relief that Monday comes with only two new zombie friends. Maybe try to make it through this week without getting hurt, hmm? The healers can only do so much.

It's starting to get warm again, and while the temperature itself isn't too unbearable, it's the humidity that's killer. The stormy weather from last week has left plenty of water in the air, and with no air conditioning outside of certain locations (read: Red and Stan's rooms) it's going to be miserable. Swimming might be the best way to cool off.

The WiiU remains, and in addition to the current games there is now a copy of 'Super Smash Bros. Brawl' for you to play! It's even got all the hidden characters unlocked. Have fun! Additionally, Kanji and Lance are now gone from the Mii menu, and a new Mii has appeared. If selected for use, it will just stand there and stare at the screen, like it's staring into the soul of whoever is playing.

In addition to all of this, there is a sense of anxiety around the camp. A 'calm before the storm', so to speak. Something's going to happen this week, and that feeling of dread just can't be shaken.

I've had a hard enough time sleeping here with all the fucking frogs yelling all night. I had to spend a bunch of my tickets on ear plugs.

[He does nod a little in response, though.]

Yeah... even if what's going on here isn't the It that Richie and I fought, we still gotta be strong. Being afraid of whatever it is will just make us dumb.

We're the biggest active threat to each other right now. We need to stop that.

[How else are they supposed to face any of this, if they keep turning on each other?]

[He nods again]

Yeah... Unless we go into those woods or do something fucking stupid, we're only killing each other... there's so much wrong with that. I don't get it. How hard is it to just not fucking kill someone!?

Extremely, apparently. Especially when you consider the accidents...

[Ugh.]

I still can't believe Kon and Sakasaki found themselves in a situation like that.

[He frowns, looking around nervously]

Yeah... me... me, too. I can't really believe any of this.

With each passing week, it only gets worse.

[Ugh!!]

...Anyway. Don't let me stop you from firing off more.

[He nods at the other fireworks still going off - just how many did Stan get?

The smokebomb, at least, seems to have puttered out, and with it the wind. Seems the spell was really just for the purpose of some neat trick.]

[He gives Mitsuru a little smile]

I found a shit ton of 'em in my cabin. Wanna set one off?

[He looks over to Eddie with a mild surprise for a moment, because an invitation to blow off fireworks isn't really what he was expecting from him, especially after what he figured was something of a lame prank.

But... Hey, if he's offering?]

Sure. What did you find?

[Hey, he's TRYING to be friendly, here! He knows Mitsuru is Boa's friend and he wants to at least make an effort to get to know him a little bit. Consider this a very explodey peace offering.]

I found 5 smoke bombs and some things called aerial repeaters and some fountains. Which one should we try first?

[killtheanimals]

[It's a pretty good peace offering, all things considered.]

...How about the fountains? I haven't tried those before.

[And the name also sounds self-explanatory, which is a plus.]

[Eddie grins and nods]

Yeah, sure! I'll set it up and you can light it, if you want.

[He picks up one of the boxes labeled "fountains" and moves to set it on a particularly flat area of sand.]

[killtheanimals]

[He nods, following. There's some tape here, so... just remove that and light it, right?

He does so, backing up in anticipation of the firework going off.]

[Eddie backs up, as well, grinning as he watches the fuse burn down. Suddenly, the top of the box errupts in an 8 foot tall tower of sparks. He gasps and laughs]

Holy shit!

[killtheanimals]

[He's not really the type to cuss, but even his face lights up at the sight, the sense of exhilaration that accompanies lighting up some good ol' fireworks. The light and colors reflect off his grin as he watches.]

[itsagazebo]

That was awesome!

[Eddie's grin matches Mitsuru's (never thought that'd ever happen) as the sparks peter out.]
