WEEK 7

A new counselor, and a brutal execution. Camp just continues to surprise, doesn't it?

The rain is back, though this time it is in sprinkles and light showers. It helps bring the temperature down, but in the breaks between those mists the humidity is brutal.

The WiiU is still here, but for some reason none of the games will play. Instead all you can do is watch the faceless Mii on the Mii menu while the remaining Miis (minus Floe, Gonta, and Shirou) cower off to the sides.

Eleven of you are left. You have made it past the 'keep ten alive to the start of week 7' warning that Red gave, but what will happen now? Is this it? Is this who will survive? Or will more death happen? And what's going to happen to the dead?

A lot of questions still need answering.

What's your connection with him anyways? The Akechi guy?

Ah... that's complicated.

[ On one hand, he doesn't like complicated. But on the other... ]

It might help to talk about it, you know?

[ Maybe he won't have panic attacks in the chapel at least? ]

[He rubs his temples, debating where to start]

Akechi was... my enemy. He had a power a lot like mine, but he used it to work as an assassin for his father-

-his father who never acknowledged him. Who drove his mother to her death. Akechi was planning to help his father gain total power... then kill him right as he got it. I guess it was supposed to be some kind of ironic justice? His father, Shido, was the man that got me arrested and was the most powerful human foe my group went up against. Akechi even infiltrated our group, faked being a Thief like us. He had no idea we had figured him out from day one.

But still... for awhile, it was almost like we were friends. I got to see the person Akechi might have been if his father hadn't ruined his life when he was just a kid. Akechi was fucked up. Maybe even evil. Archer was in the right to put him down.

... but he didn't deserve it either. I- I was so bitter when I got arrested. When my family decided it'd be easier for them to send me away instead of fighting for me. I... could have been Akechi. I coulda used my power to hurt people so easily. Guess that's why... this.

[ Drawing slow circles up and down his spine now as he listens. It's probably because it's Ren that it's easier for to stay focused. When he finishes he leans back to try to catch his eyes with his own. ]

Why you're seeing yourself in his place?

[ He can't really see Ren actually hurting people like that. He has seen the cracks and the distrust there. How much it means for him to be able to trust Red... ]

You know, we can probably save him with everyone else.

Wha... I... hadn't thought of that?

Yeah, so you can make friends for real this time.

[ Maybe after hitting him for being dumb first? ]
