As you wake up, nothing seems different - beyond that you feel like you could legitimately eat something without vomiting. And that, just like all the times before, means only one thing -

- that one of your fellow campers have committed murder.

Someone is dead. It's up to you to find out who...and to gather evidence for it.

[it's clear he can't do anything. he can't even go fight to get everyone back. not like this. not in here.

[bash. he stops, completely out of his own control, shaking his head, his torso following the movement, almost thrashing]

[he finds his words, and they come out in a sobbing wail, barely intelligible]

YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, YOU DIDN'T EVEN LOVE BOA UNTIL HE WAS ALREADY FUCKING D-D-DEAD.

[ Nine drops what he's doing at the clearing as soon as he sees a familiar shirt on the body. When he runs past the cabin, he sees two forms. Maybe it's a trick. Maybe he's just hallucinating the torso and shirt. And no one is actually dead?

Throwing the door open and seeing this. Seeing Richie wailing and a barrier in place. Seeing that it's Mitsuru there. He's glad Mitsuru is okay, but...

But it's proof. Proof he wasn't seeing things. Proof that it was one of his there.

Nine swallows hard as he looks at the barrier and then at Richie. And then he'll try to project every bit of soldier Eddie accused of him being in the past. The one who can shut himself off. Putting himself in place to intercept Richie. ]

Take down the barrier, Mitsuru.

[ He's going to try to catch Richie and hold on as soon as it's down. ]

[It's good Nine busts in when he does, because Mitsuru's been stunned to silence yet again today and--

In a detached way, he recognizes Nine. Knows he's someone trustworthy. Someone who can deal with Richie far, far better than he ever could.

He dismisses the barrier without a word. And, immediately after that, he vanishes without a trace.]

[he retrieves the bat. calmly. the calm is not of the sane variety.]

[ He shakes his head. ]

You'll have to hit me, yo.

[ He sees it coming and he'll just drop down so it'll hit him in the fucking stomach instead. It knocks out all of his breath still and pivots forward to grab Richie by the shoulders and hold tight while he tries to figure out how to breathe again. Fuck!

Later on, he will be proud, but right now? He's gasping and coughing. Can't even talk right now. ]

LET GO, ASSHOLE, I HAVE TO GO KILL HIM. WE DON'T EVEN NEED A TRIAL. HE DID IT.

[ Stomp away, he's not letting go. Just cursing and gripping tighter. ]

Short of beating Archer's brains out, I'm not going out there. I don't want to hear about it. I don't want to see anything they f-f-found.

[ Giving him a hug. ]

[he doesn't have anything else to say, but that hug brings on a fresh gout of sobs.

[ He wishes it was Eddie in here instead of him hugging Richie. He wishes it was all of them... Eddie, Richie, Chuuta and Boa. All of them in here safe.

He has to keep it together a little longer. Get through the rest of this. Trying to steel his resolve as he reminds himself what would Ichigo do. He knows Ichigo liked the kids, too. So he knows he might have to be there for him later after he kicks his ass... ]
