FINAL TRIAL
And now, you know the truth. Who's behind everything, and why.
And the question that hangs in the air now is - what's next?
It's noon when you all go down to the firepit, the sun hanging bright in the air. Red is there, seated calmly, watching all of you - and Archer is standing up, looking imposing.
It's time to talk.

[And his expression falls, as all the stress from that conversation comes flooding back to him.]
These gigai were supposed to take on the form that represented what our souls thought they ought to look like, right? Floe told me she thinks she's a boy now. God, Tal, I'm trying to be understanding. I don't care if she's a boy or a girl or whatever, but... I'm just so confused and I think she's confused, too? But...
[Ahh, this was inadvisable. He shouldn't have started talking about this, he should have left it at the platitude: I'm happy for her that she's in a body that she feels comfortable with. That's all that matters." Because ultimately, that is all that matters. It's just...]
I just feel like I don't know anything anymore. Nothing. Everything I thought I knew just keeps changing around me and I don't...
I'm tired.
[He laughs weakly, rubbing his forehead.]
Sorry.

It might be a change for the better. I mean if sh- if Floe is more comfortable then maybe the two of you will be able to be closer?
[But that's only one part of the changes Lance is talking about, he knows that.]
Some of this is good. I mean... [He offers a weak smile, sliding his hand down to pinch Lance's arm.] We're here, right? We're alive. Everything else will fall into place if we give it time.
[He's not entirely sure he's really that optimistic, at least for himself, but for Lance? For Lance he's sure everything will be okay, because that's what he deserves.]

Yeah, sorry - It was just... bad timing to be confronted with that. I don't know what that's gonna mean in the long run and I didn't really want to hear about something else being uncertain. No matter how all that plays out though, I got this. We got this.
[He gives Tal's arm a playful bump with his fist and a half smile. It's a tepid one at best because right now the only thing he's sure he's "got" is a headache, but that's besides the point.]
After everything we've already been through, the rest of it's gonna be a piece of cake in comparison.
[...which at this point may be more of an unspoken plea for that to be true because if it isn't that's too much to deal with, but there's a strong part of him that doesn't want to view himself as having been broken by this whole camp experience, too. That just wouldn't be fitting for a paladin of Voltron.]

And he gets it, he does. Lance needs to have something steady, one thing he can rely on, at least. Everything else is such a mess. It's just too bad that Floe can't be that for him. Deciding to be a boy is kind of a big change though. Tal's honestly not sure how she had time to think about something like that with everything else going on.
Then again how can he have time to think about romance with everything going on?]
Yeah... definitely. It'll all be easier from here out. [It sure as hell can't be any harder.] Just try to give her some time. And if you need to talk you know I'll listen and give the most objective advice I can.
Promise.
