WEEK 3

WEEK 3

Another Sunday, another day to rest and recover after trial. The weather is now uncomfortably hot and humid after all the rain - perfect swimming weather, if what happened during the execution didn't put you off from swimming for a good long while.

As before, The RV's have changed, but it might not be the best idea to go and bother them after last week's...well, mistake. Maybe give it a week to rest. Additionally, if anyone tries to play the Wii, they will find that Chloe, Talcott, and Sayama's Miis have disappeared - as well that the machine itself is spitting out some strange music at the home screen and the Mii channel. The games seem unaffected by the musical change, at least - and there's now a copy of Mario Party 9 ready to be played alongside Wii Sports. Try not to murder each other or fling the wiimotes into the tv, alright?

The rest of the camp is the same as always, though now fishing equipment is always left out near the lake and beach, and there's a taped on sign on the slope railing declaring 'DO NOT LEAN ON.' Looks like they finally noticed the hazard that thing could potentially be. The kitchen has been fully scrubbed, the faint scent of lemon wafting in the air. Hm.

Two weeks have gone by, and with it, 6 of your fellow campers are gone. There are only six weeks left - six long weeks, and your chances of making it out dwindle all the time.

Knowing that, what will you do?

I don't know if it's just Talcott or if the others can too. I.. I want to say we should try prodding them but.

Fuck. It's like with Stan - would pressing them just make them realize what's happening? Is it worth it to make them suffer?

They... could be here for a reason.

[At some point, earlier in this mess, he might have said they must be. But the dead keep coming and too many of them have become familiar faces. Lenka's not sure how far he can believe even what he tells himself at this point.

He looks over at the lodge. Where the counselor's rooms are. He still thinks they should find out what Stan knows, if anything. Why his memory is the way it is. But Talcott and the others...]

They're the ones who bring the discs, aren't they?

Yeah. One every week. And they show the past from someone's perspective, probably someone who died. If what's in our heads and what's taking over the dead... god what if the discs are made out of the same stuff?

We still have the discs, don’t we...?

[There’s probably a disc-designated spot next to the Wii now, just a little starting pile of possibly-brain-residue sitting in the lodge.

Lenka looks like he’s going to be sick, briefly, himself — it really is a rabbit hole no one wants to go down, something that could destroy more than just the dead; but they don’t have the luxury of not knowing, anymore. It’s maybe a good thing he didn’t have all that much for lunch.]

Has anyone tried comparing? Or asking?

Not that I know of, but there's nothing stopping us now.

...I don't think Red wants to talk to me for a bit, so might be better if someone else does that though.

[...]

[This is a hilarious thing to say to him at the moment, since he's not sure how much he wants to talk to Red right now either or vice versa. Lenka manages to stop that from showing on his face, though. He's had a lot of practice at that this last week.]

We can compare them first. I think we still have the piece we extracted from Soma.

[Soma, the real guinea pig.]

Good idea. But... why would they have them at all. WHy show us things from the past at all.

What... what are they trying to tell us? What is IT trying to tell us?

We don't know where the discs are coming from. Besides the dead.

[It's tempting to connect them directly to the voice.

But even if the voice and the camp's own structure aren't directly connected, they have to be intertwined -- the discs could be from either authority. Whoever they are. Whatever they are. They really don't know enough yet, frustratingly.]

And they all have Red in them. [he wonders if that's important, somehow] I asked Red if past campers are important. She said... in a way, they are.

[Which is about as helpful as always. On the other hand, they definitely aren't just watching eldritch home movies.]
