WEEK 3

Another Sunday, another day to rest and recover after trial. The weather is now uncomfortably hot and humid after all the rain - perfect swimming weather, if what happened during the execution didn't put you off from swimming for a good long while.

As before, The RV's have changed, but it might not be the best idea to go and bother them after last week's...well, mistake. Maybe give it a week to rest. Additionally, if anyone tries to play the Wii, they will find that Chloe, Talcott, and Sayama's Miis have disappeared - as well that the machine itself is spitting out some strange music at the home screen and the Mii channel. The games seem unaffected by the musical change, at least - and there's now a copy of Mario Party 9 ready to be played alongside Wii Sports. Try not to murder each other or fling the wiimotes into the tv, alright?

The rest of the camp is the same as always, though now fishing equipment is always left out near the lake and beach, and there's a taped on sign on the slope railing declaring 'DO NOT LEAN ON.' Looks like they finally noticed the hazard that thing could potentially be. The kitchen has been fully scrubbed, the faint scent of lemon wafting in the air. Hm.

Two weeks have gone by, and with it, 6 of your fellow campers are gone. There are only six weeks left - six long weeks, and your chances of making it out dwindle all the time.

Knowing that, what will you do?

[Eddie is CLINGING to Richie, but he grabs hold of Nine, too.]

[ It's okay, he can pick up both and head back to the cabin and away from kitties. ]

What the hell? Are you guys trying to give me a heart attack?

[ Also pls save any smooching until after Nine puts you down ]

No, I - there was - I'll explain later, okay? It was a GOOD idea. How was I supposed to know they could smell octopus from that far away?

[Eddie's still trying to catch his breath, eyes as wide as dinner plates. Once Nine puts him back on solid ground his hands clamp on Richie's shirt.]

I... I... oh my fucking God! I thought they were gonna... I thought...

[His voice cracks and he squeezes his eyes shut, trying to keep the tears at bay]

It's - so did I. Shit, Eds, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry -

[he puts his arms around Eddie and pulls him close...

... and ...

nothing. that reassuring warmth, the pressure, none of it registers. he pales.]

[ SO CLOSE ]

[Eddie buries his face in Richie's chest and the tears start to fall. Completely oblivious to what Richie is or isn't feeling at the moment, he takes comfort in his BFF's closeness. This is Richie. This is home and safety, he's okay here.

He mutters through his tears.]

It's not your fault.

And it's not yours either.

[he reaches up and puts his hand on Eddie's head, a bit awkwardly, because normally he can feel when he's getting close to actually touching his skull instead of his hair. but there's no fluff barrier, just ... boomp. hand on head.]

Nine's right, we're okay.

[he looks over the top of his head in time to see Lenka mashing a bucket of meat onto a cat's face what is their life even really those three had BETTER GET THAT FUCKING LAPTOP]

We're all okay.

[Eddie just nods with his head against Richie's chest]

I know...

[He's covered in Frank's blood and ink and grass stains and dirt from being dragged by those fucking cats, but he doesn't care. Knowing Richie, he won't care about the mess, either, at least.]

I know...

[ And soon after they have entered the cabin, Boa comes running into it and slams the door shut behind himself again. He looks like absolute hell, wet all over with the camp uniform clinging to his way-too-thin body, and meat stains all over his shirt.

As soon as the door is closed and he's inside, he collapses onto his knees. ]

Plans... we're never making any of those again.

[OHTHANKGOD

When Eddie hears Boa he releases Richie and turns. He blinks a few times, squinting as he tries to see what state Boa's in.

Fuck it, he doesn't care. He pushes himself half to his feet and launches himself at Boa for a hug. Deal with it, bro, you helped save him.]

[ Well Boa got close to him while he had questionable stains, so it's only fair he returns the favor.

Going over there to just grab him and pull him into a hug. ]

What happened, yo?

[Richie joins the hugpile briefly, but the fact that he can't actually feel his friends is ... disturbing. he backs away, and thankfully, sees Usagi with the cats, and the book lying abandoned on the Lodge steps]

Uhhh, guys, I'll be back in a minute. I think ... I might need to help Usagi.

... be careful. I'm not... helping you if not...

[ AT THIS POINT IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT IF YOU GET CAT EATEN, Boa has decided.

It's not something he really means, but damn, this was terrifying and he'd rather stop dealing with bullshit other people caused now.

So he'll just remain comfortably between Nine and Eddie and ... actually relax into those hugs. ]

[Eddie looks up]

Richie? Richie, wait!

[He stops. Richie's okay. There are plenty of people to help him. He might not be in any state to do anything, but that doesn't mean Richie can't help...]

Don't you fucking die, asshole!

Usagi, Lenka, and Gonta are out there. They'll keep him safe, yo.

[ He adjusts his hold to get Eddie into the hug too. ]

They better do.

[ Said in a clear tone of 'I'll kill them if not', which is probably hilarious coming from a tiny 11yo who just nearly got eaten. ]

[Eddie just nods, happy to stay in the cabin in a hug with his friends and not go back out where the lake cats might try to steal him away again.]

[ Boa stays quiet for a bit, also content to be very much alive and knowing his friends very much alive.

But then the longer he calms, the more it occurs to him how extraordinarily pathetic this all was. ]

... if we talk to the people who vent to the RV park... this never happened. Alright?

[ He looks up over at the door. ]

You'll have to make sure they don't spill.

[ Gonta, Lenka, and Usagi. He doesn't know who else might have seen. ]

[It's not pathetic to have friends who care, Boa!

Eddie nods.]
