WEEK 3

Another Sunday, another day to rest and recover after trial. The weather is now uncomfortably hot and humid after all the rain - perfect swimming weather, if what happened during the execution didn't put you off from swimming for a good long while.

As before, The RV's have changed, but it might not be the best idea to go and bother them after last week's...well, mistake. Maybe give it a week to rest. Additionally, if anyone tries to play the Wii, they will find that Chloe, Talcott, and Sayama's Miis have disappeared - as well that the machine itself is spitting out some strange music at the home screen and the Mii channel. The games seem unaffected by the musical change, at least - and there's now a copy of Mario Party 9 ready to be played alongside Wii Sports. Try not to murder each other or fling the wiimotes into the tv, alright?

The rest of the camp is the same as always, though now fishing equipment is always left out near the lake and beach, and there's a taped on sign on the slope railing declaring 'DO NOT LEAN ON.' Looks like they finally noticed the hazard that thing could potentially be. The kitchen has been fully scrubbed, the faint scent of lemon wafting in the air. Hm.

Two weeks have gone by, and with it, 6 of your fellow campers are gone. There are only six weeks left - six long weeks, and your chances of making it out dwindle all the time.

Knowing that, what will you do?

[It appears to be a shot filmed from a security camera. There are two men in the video: one in a white lab coat and one creepy fucker in a white lab coat. They both also have ID badges clipped to their coats, but at this distance it’s impossible to read them.

The video seems to cut in right at the end of a conversation the two were having.]

-a shame, really. I expected the subject to last longer. They really don’t make them like they used to…. If only I could be allowed to continue my strengthening tests.

[That was the strange-looking man. Next to speak is the more normal-looking one.]

After the last time? Not likely. More can be brought in, though - we have the resources.

I will prepare the lab for the next set, then. Perhaps this time they won’t all die immediately.

It may be a few weeks. We’re finishing up prep for-

[The camera view fizzles for a second, and the words go unheard. When it cuts back in, the strange man is making a ‘tut tut’ noise.]

Is it June already? A shame. I was hoping to speak to Red again before she left.

She left three days ago and is already on site.

She’s been avoiding me, you know.

I can’t imagine why.

[The strange man gets an annoyed look on his face, while the normal-looking man smirks.]

You should leave her alone. She’s in love with her sword, remember?
[The strange looking man bursts into a manic grin, leaning forward.]

But she is just so fascinating! Did you know that she is immune to the camp’s mind effects?

[The normal-looking man’s face falls into something more serious.]

...no, she did not mention that.

[The strange-looking man continues to grin, gesticulating with his one long fingernail.]

Well then! It seems our little redhead has been keeping secrets! Here, let me enlighten you. Then maybe you’ll understand why I was hoping to run some tests on her before she left again.

The higher-ups would never approve experimentation on her. She’s a valuable field agent who gets above-average results, even at the camp.

Oh, just wait until you hear about this…

[Even though his hearing is seriously waning now. And those profiles, and that video, and--

[she gives him a questioning look, then gestures to one of her ears]

[He will go get the nearest piece of paper/his booklet and write: "It seems that might be necessary."]

[Ichigo's been mostly silent in the back, processing all of this information. Yet, the moment he sees Mayuri....his eyes go wide, a cold sweat rolling down his spine.

Mayuri. Ishida had told him what the captain had done to all the quincy sent his way, and he remembers the man's comments about 'wanting to test on Ichigo so badly, just once-'

He actively starts shuddering, and when the movie ends? He's in stunned silence before he suddenly belts out, in a rush of panic:]

KUROTSUCHI?!

[she doesn't hear this. but she sees that reaction, and that's good enough]

[gives him!! a questioning look!!]

[SORRY HE'S A BIT BUSY PANICKING??

Like, he's never panicked this badly in camp before - he's always kept himself calm, or at least tried to, due to wanting to be strong for everyone else - but it's clear this has shaken him.]

[Ichigo!!]

[Mitsuru is not a touchy-feely person. her personal space is extremely important to her. and yet, with her hearing being as it is, and her not knowing what sense Ichigo lost. . . she reaches out to touch his arm, to get his attention]

[He can't hear Ren, but he knows that was a question - so he nods, speaking in the loud way of the deaf.]

The - creepy looking one, that's Kurotsuchi. He's - insane. He's blown up his own men as suicide bombers, done experiments on helpless people to further his twisted science - He bugged a friend of mine's bacteria so he could spy on him and the rest of us!

[It should become quickly clear why Ichigo's so upset.]

This is - This is bad. If he's not being controlled properly, then -

[Oh shit, he's going deaf like Mitsuru is. Ren steps into his sightline more fully, blocking the laptop, and so it's not a shock when he takes hold of Ichigo's shoulders. Once he gets his attention he brings a finger up, points to Ichigo, then to his own eyes. And very clearly mouthes:]

Focus.

[Ichigo is nearly having a panic attack, and honestly that's scarier than the video to Ren]

[Even though he can't hear her, he yells it out anyway. He's too panicked not to.]

[From some distance away, since Kanji isn't sitting with the group. Can't see anything, but he heard stuff. Then Ichigo shouts that]

Kagutsuchi? What about Kagutsuchi?!

[Kanji, you're not losing your hearing, pay more attention to what others are screaming. At least Kanji got alarmed, even if it's for the wrong reasons]
