WEEK 3 - INVESTIGATION

INVESTIGATION

You've got all your senses back, but with the return of them comes a grim, familiar knowledge -

- that one of your fellow campers have committed murder.

Someone is dead. It's up to you to find out who...and to gather evidence for it.

BASE EVIDENCE: 16 PIECES
CAMPERS REMAINING: ???

((We ask that you remain in groups of 2-3! As per usual.))

[Friday mornings aren’t the greatest time to go anywhere when everything is now a murder scene and no one’s has any sleep the night before — at least very few people in his cabin, Lenka would attest. It’s starting to be a routine for a zombie horde of them to wander across camp in the morning, hoping the early daze would blunt the impact of any discoveries that day. There’s a part of him that wants to curl up in the cabin and pull the pillow over his head, every time.

Of course he doesn’t.

Instead he’ll be over by the lake, keeping half an eye out for any of the cats and watching fellow campers the rest of the time. Slowly counting the number of people up and moving. Not for any real purpose, but it’s just slightly more soothing.]

[ Despite having all senses back, Floe is. Not in a great mood. Because they all know what it means now, that feeling better on Friday morning means something terrible has happened. After grabbing her daily shower (murder can't keep her from clean hair), she's sticking right behind Lenka wherever he's going. Specifically behind, so he'll have to see any gory shit first and give her warning. Lead the way smart guy. ]

[Is he really still the smart guy. Really, you're going to leave him with that epithet, Floe.

Lenka is fine with leading the way, though -- the first week aside, he's seen enough bodies to where he can at least process them quickly and get to the business side of things, which is useful but not particularly reassuring at a time like this. At least his sense of touch and sight are back so he's not liable to faceplant into them. Though, Floe really probably should have left her shower for later. Good luck, bodyfinders.]

Floe... you don't have to come out here. If you don't want to.
love_seriously: (Don't you shut this down)

O-of course I don't want to come out here! I want to stay in bed and pretend this isn't happening! But we have to. If someone is...if there's anything to find, we have to...to...

[ She trails off as soon as the cup and jacket come into sight. It's not brains, which is good, but...it's something out of place. Which is. Something. ]

We have to find the truth.

[He finishes for her, very quietly, and doesn't say anything else because that sure doesn't look completely alarming but it's still pretty out of place. Time to take a look at that coffee cup -- is there a way to tell how it was broken? Direction? Is there any residue in it?]
love_seriously: (Maybe there is nothing I could do)

[personal profile] love_seriously 2018-06-22 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Damn right it's not mine, this glorious mane is untouched. Floe crouches down to get a closer look at it. ]

Umm...

[ There's a lot of redheads in camp, but the ones close enough to be mistaken for Floe's are more limited. Hmm.

Can she get a look at that jacket? ]

... This is probably related to Cabin 1.

[That's his conclusion so far and he's sticking to it.

Okay but seriously, since Floe is going for the jacket Lenka is going to pick up the hair to examine. The red and white is a pretty distinctive combination, and is probably explained by a quick glance downslope now that we've worked out the gravitational field of camp. The strawberry blond hair -- is it long or short?

He's also going to examine the shirt fibers. From where they are, can they see if the shirt matches Natsume's current outfit? Or is it just... random green shirt stuff. Also, is there anything else on the railing besides the fibers? What's the state of the leftover railing, does it look like it broke off or otherwise?]
love_seriously: (Hey what a surprise)

[personal profile] love_seriously 2018-06-22 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
This is Natsume's...what, did he just fall down?

[ Since they can see the shenanigans going on upslope downslope, they know he's alive...it'll be pretty dumb if they just end up finding evidence for a simple accident. ]
soylentprotag: (044)

[personal profile] soylentprotag 2018-06-22 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
... Most of this is Natsume's. But this hair...

[Is it possible to narrow down whose hair it is at all, based on recollection? Are they going to have to collar every redhead in camp? Where are half the redheads at this point, anyway.

At least Natsume seems to be alive, but. Blood? That's also visible from here and that's not good.]

I think somebody else was with him.
love_seriously: (My head is stuck in the clouds)

[personal profile] love_seriously 2018-06-22 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Short, spiky hair, similar in color to Floe's... ]

It's gotta be one of those guys, right? The twins. Or...maybe Shirou? [ Shirou's is a little redder, but it's probably the right length. ]

But...Natsume's alive. If someone was with him, where did they go?
soylentprotag: (040)

[personal profile] soylentprotag 2018-06-23 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
The twins, I think.

[Shirou’s is definitely closer to Natsume’s shade. But Lenka’s just going to pocket all the hair, and the fibers, after wrapping them in some of the loose paper he keeps in his pockets for notes. There might be some notes on the hair paper now but it’s fine.

And there still isn’t a body, so he has about as many questions as Floe.]

It looks like a mess down there. Something happened.

[And there has to be a body. He pauses for a moment, because that’s become some kind of expectation now, three weeks in. That’s not good.]

Let’s see what the others find.
