WEEK 4
Another week begins at camp, though it comes with a bit of a somber note. More than a third of the campers have died or gone missing, leaving a noticeable absence in camp. With five gone in one week, will anyone really be able to make it the full eight weeks? That is yet to be seen.
The weather has dipped a little, going down to the mid-70s. At least the pastier kids won't have to worry about sunburns, right? Though the waves coming off the lake have been starting to get a little high. And the RVs have changed once more, though anyone with a keen eye might notice that some of them look familiar...
The Wii is gone, and in its place is a shiny new WiiU, now sporting Bayonetta 2 and Splatoon in addition to the Wii games left behind. Unfortunately, there's no internet, so you're stuck with single player mode only. Leon, Mami, Clarke, Kon, and Natsume are now gone from the Mii menu, and the music has changed again.
This week there seems to be a baseball diamond set up in the field, and there will probably be sports-themed activities later on. But with only 18 living campers left, will anyone really be in the mood for some games?

[ Boa's regimen of physical training is not to be stopped by anything. Any morning you can find him in the Grassy Field, running laps, doing push-ups, etc. So if you wanna find him? That's a reliable way how. Also come work out with him! ]
Monday midday, Mess Hall
[ New powers, huh...? Boa can't say he is missing his decay powers any. They were never really his anyway and they've not exactly proven to be much use around here. These new ones though... Boa is kind of curious.
After lunch has finished up and most people have left, he remains seated on a bench, focusing intensely. For a while nothing happens and then...
... is that a spinning top materializing out of thin air? ]
Monday afternoon, clearing
[ The familiar Beybade stadium is out here again, but this time there is not just Boa training on his own. There's also two (!) other Beyblades laying around as well as an extra launcher.
If your character passes by, Boa's going to wave at them and ask if they want to give it a try. Since there is now two launchers as well as two Beyblades that Boa is willing to part with, characters can also fight each other instead of just... getting crushed by Boa. ]
((ooc: I'll put a second comment under this to serve as a mingle top-level for all Beyblade starters that aren't directed as Boa - comment down there and thread Beyblade fights with each other! It's spinning tops! It'll be fun!))
Open Beyblade Fighting Area
The Beyblade Boa made earlier in the day is not as strong as the other one that he's handing out, but since we're all newbies here, it probably doesn't matter too much. ]

Did you get another one?! Can you teach me now?
no subject
Boa grins widely as Richie approaches. ]
Yep! And a third, thanks to... whatever thing is going on with powers.
no subject
[he flops down next to the arena]
But I - I don't wanna think about that right now.
[he heard Talcott. he doesn't know what to think about that, or how to feel, and it's confusing, and it hurts. the Beys are the perfect distraction]
I wanna learn how to play this.
no subject
And anyway, Beyblading is like... way cooler anyway. Way more important. Boa places a Beyblade in Richie's hands. ]
Here, that's Rising Ragnaruk. It's the one I used before I got my recent one. The idea is just to have it either last longer than the opponent's bey or to burst the other person - bursting means that the Bey falls apart into its three parts.
no subject
[Richie turns it over in his hands, glad for the distraction]
It's really cool looking. The bits on the top are like water or something. .... So, last one standing wins. Got it. Kinda like dodgeball. So how do you burst it?
no subject
[ He takes his own Beyblade and turns the top layer to cause exactly this effect. It very neatly comes apart into three parts. ]
A Burst is two points. If you kick the other out of the stadium or if they stop spinning, that's one point. Whoever gets two points first wins.

Monday morning
Hey, uh, can I join you?
no subject
Sure! Building up stamina is not a bad idea for self-defen...se..-- [ Okay, what is that gun thing? ]
When did you get that?
no subject
I woke up with it next to my bed. It's Mitsuru's. It's got to do with the whole fucking powers thing.
no subject
[ He doesn't talk to her a lot so this is never his first though.]
That was the healing powers, right? Pretty cool.

no subject
Well, you probably won't keep it too long-- [ And that's when he realizes he's talking about murder as an inevitability and that's what his friends are kinda trying to not. have happen. So he looks a little sheepish. ]
Probably.

Monday
[What's the wonder of Beyblade, Boa?]
no subject
[ He's explained this about a million times to various people in camp so far, but it's definitely more exciting to talk about when he has the chance to demonstrate it on the spot. ]
These things [ he holds up his Beyblade ] are beys and the aim is to launch these at each other and fight until one of them bursts into its parts.
no subject
[When have you seen bumper cars crashing until one of them explodes, Kanji]
no subject
I... I guess? Though it's a duel battle usually, not battle royale. So... only two cars.
no subject
[Kanji is genuinely enthused. Bring it on, Boa!]
no subject
What's important is to hold is steady and use a lot of force in the pull. We start after counting down from three.

mess hall, hello powers buddy
... Boa.
[The prompt is quiet, so hopefully it doesn't startle him or his mysterious Beyblade power too much.]
Is that, uh, your new power?
[He is pretty sure that he's seen the spinning tops around before. They'd looked not that magical, though.]
no subject
It... It seems so. This is incredible.
no subject
You can make these now... Can you make anything else?
[He does sound duly intrigued, though he's perhaps not giving this particular creation the credit it deserves. To be fair, he's just curious about the powers.]
no subject
[ which is awesome. Take that, every other blader.]
no subject
Lenka wisely says nothing about that part, for now. He hasn't tried it for himself, after all.]
So you need to be an expert in something to make it... I don't know whose magic this is.
[Like, honestly, all he knows about Shirou's magic is 'swords', still.]
