WEEK 5 - INVESTIGATION

INVESTIGATION

As you wake up, nothing seems different - beyond that you don't seem quite as worried about your secrets being exposed anymore. And that, just like all the times before, means only one thing -

- that one of your fellow campers have committed murder.

Someone is dead. It's up to you to find out who...and to gather evidence for it.

[ SHIT. BOA.

Nine is going to check out the body. ]

Don't look, yo. There's a body over here.

[ SO who's body is it ]

[ Boa just freezes in his tracks instantly, which is about as good as listening to Nine in the 'don't look' department. ]

[ That's his official statement and you may quote him on it.

IT'S BETTER THAN BRAINS? In the sense that it's the complete absence of brains from the room? But honestly? It sucks. It sucks so much. And he doesn't really feel like stepping closer just yet to look at that neck wound up close.

Can't he catch a break? Ever? ]

[The body is clearly female, but it's hard to tell exactly who this used to be just on that.

There's smudged pink paint on the back of the body, though it's hard to make out through all the blood.]

[ Well... that's not good. Considering the chicks left here are either his friends or are the soft type. Nine is going to investigate. Tall chick or short? Also checking her clothes? Anything in her pockets? ]

Boa... did you see Pigtails in her bunk this morning? [ Nine wasn't paying attention thanks to certain assholes busting in early. ]

[ Boa is silent for a moment.... Usagi....

He shakes his head hesitantly. ]

... no. I don't think I did.

[Well now that it's revealed to be Usagi, the body is definitely short. So it's not Mitsuru(tol).

Her clothes are fine, and there's nothing in her pockets - though it's obvious there's less blood than you'd expect from a decapitation here. There's still enough covering the, uh, neck stump, though.]

[ Just going to check out where her head used to be. ]

I didn't really think to check. Lenka was distracting, yo.

[ WHERE IS ALL THE BLOOD. Is it a clean cut? Jagged? Did it look like they knew what they were doing? ]

That's weird, yo. Do you see any blood or drag marks?

[ Have something to do that isn't looking at the body ]

... I'll check.

[ Having Nine with him when finding bodies is really most useful... He thinks he could probably take a close look without getting sick by now, but if he doesn't have to? Hey, all the better.

So, any blood elsewhere in this hall? ]

[Strangely, No.

The cut looks a little jagged, like whoever did this had to stop multiple times during it. Nine can also tell it was definitely after Usagi died.]

[ Is there any indication of how she died? Any stab marks or wounds on her body? Does she have any defensive wounds on her hands? ]

[Nothing on her hands or the rest of her body.

There's just the blood covering her neck stump...]

[ Is there something under the blood. Does he have to check? Prodding at the wound carefully to see if there's something there. ]

[As he prods the wound, a little blood is wiped off of her neck, revealing some markings.]

[ Shit... just going to use cape 2.0 to wipe more of the blood off to get a look at the markings. Are they tool markings or something else? ]

[They look...unidentifiable, because they've been cut in half.]

[ Nine leaves to find where the screaming came from. Later on, him, Eddie, and Mitsusol will come in here to match the marks up ]

[As the head and the body come together, it's clear the marks are a pair of handmarks, on the smaller side.

Aka: definitely not from the older boys this time, thank christ.]

...I couldn't really tell the size of the prints by the paint stain over at the shack. We might be... looking for someone smaller this time.

[Ominous.]

[Richie is in the mess hall when the boys arrive with Usagi's head ... sitting a few chairs away from the rest of her, looking grim. he ... looks more or less like he's been sitting here trying to acclimate to at least 90% of a dead body, so that when the other 10% shows up, he'll be prepared to see it again. he's also taken a closer look at those paint marks if at all possible.]

[Eddie looks pale and vaguely ill, but he's holding Usagi's head between two gloved hands. Her pigtails drag on the floor on either side of his feet. He's been avoiding looking directly down at it, focusing on where the others are moving. It's just a human-shaped puzzle. That's all. That's all it is. He can do this. He takes a deep breath as he holds the head into place, looking up at Mitsuru.]

Someone smaller? So it's not one of the older boys this time...

[The paint marks are...paint marks, like she had her back pressed against a wall of paint.]

[After everyone finishes finding... whatever they will find, ren comes in to do his grim work.

He Looks.

His good hand is fucked, but after his talk with Chuuta and being interrupted cleaning it, he doesn't bother rewrapping it, and just says fuck it and uses his half-formed new fingers as he does his body sketch: the art is lacking, but still better than what he'd manage with his off hand.

Floe had asked him to look at Chuuta, desperate that he would just... know... if he was innocent. Of course, things never work that way, but Ren feels a crawling guilt anyway, as if he just didn't try hard enough.]

Show me, what happened to you... Usagi.

[There's definitely the handprints flaring out as bright as day, but beyond that...nothing.]

[He gets in close, and draws out the handprints in exact detail- as much as he can with his half fingers at least. But at least he can compare sizes closely]

[The size would fit Boa, Mitsuru, Richie, Eddie, Chuuta, and Floe.

Everyone else is too large.]
