TRIAL

It takes a full day after finding the body, but on Saturday, the counselors call you all to the campfire, the bonfire already roaring away as everyone finds their seats. Stan and Red are seated there, with Stan holding a box saying 'VOTES' written on it.

It looks like you're here to find the killer.

And just like before, you know you'll be forced to vote before the night's over...

And condemn someone to a grisly fate.

And why would he go straight to bed after? He'd still have to be wet for it to get on the sheets- and whoever killed Usagi had to go and at least talk to Red after. Even if the wet air kept it from drying out, they definitely were thinking through ways to hide it - no way they would leave such an obvious clue after all that effort.

Shit... you're right. [Eddie drops his head into his hands, groaning] So where the fuck does that leave us?

With someone who wanted Chuuta to take the hit instead of them.

[... Eddie looks pale and concerned... this doesn't look good for him, Rich. Or Boa.]

They cleaned themselves up, put all the leftover paint on Chuuta's trunk and on his bed and then hucked the can somewhere.

Asshole... They knew a lot of us didn't trust him, so they figured we'd all just accuse him.

[Richie draws in a deep breath]

... the ... what I heard ... the secret ... it ... no. Fuck.

[Eddie's eyes widen]

What? What did you hear?

[he winces. he hadn't wanted to share it at all]

I wasn't supposed to hear it. And it's ... it's part lie, anyway, right? But - but ...

I heard that someone would let other people die, as long as they survive.

I think I'm gonna be sick.

[He wishes he could tell him, truthfully, that it will get better. But it's likely to get worse before it gets better, so he doesn't say that. Instead:]

We'll make it through. We've made it this far. We'll find out what happened for Usagi's sake, and everyone's.

[Eddie silently agrees... though he knows he might not be able to vote depending on how things go...]

Right. We still have a few people it could be. So let's go through the evidence bit by bit. No more yelling and pointing, alright?

[His tone is calm but stern]

[Thank you for being a voice of reason where Shirou can't, Ren]

[he sighs. he feels like a total wet slimy asshole right now, but they still have a murderer to find]
