WEEK 5 - TRIAL

TRIAL

It takes a full day after finding the body, but on Saturday, the counselors call you all to the campfire, the bonfire already roaring away as everyone finds their seats. Stan and Red are seated there, with Stan holding a box saying 'VOTES' written on it.

It looks like you're here to find the killer.

And just like before, you know you'll be forced to vote before the night's over...

And condemn someone to a grisly fate.

VICTIM: Usagi Tsukino
CAMPERS REMAINING: 15

((Remember that Everyone must vote and that Votes are due by 6pm EST!))

... family.

[ Boa just repeats that word between sobs. Family... He's talked to Lance about this, he's talked to Mitsuru about this. He didn't really understand or relate to either of their sentiments about it.

But if he thinks about it like this... maybe he can. ]

That... sounds good...

[ He gets it. Nine remembers how hard it was to even think of the rest of Class Zero as family. But it then became normal... and it felt right.

A lot like how this does. Even if they might not all have the same future, they all have the same present. They all have right now and Nine wants to carry it with him. ]

Yeah, it does, doesn't it? And I'm going to find a way we can meet again.

[ He has to keep it together. He has to give him hope... ]

[ Boa just rests his face against Nine's chest, feeling the warmth. Soon he won't be able to feel anything at all anymore. Soon everything will be over... All this time he talked big about knowing that dying is an option, but somehow he had never thought he could die. With the naive optimism of a child he'd always thought it would be anyone else but him.

Now it's going to be him. And Boa wants to believe Nine when he says he'll save him, but he finds it hard to. Death is losing, death is final. ]

... t-thank you.

[ For even trying at all, for being family for the last few minutes of his life, for everything he'd done before. ]
