WEEK 7
A new counselor, and a brutal execution. Camp just continues to surprise, doesn't it?
The rain is back, though this time it is in sprinkles and light showers. It helps bring the temperature down, but in the breaks between those mists the humidity is brutal.
The WiiU is still here, but for some reason none of the games will play. Instead all you can do is watch the faceless Mii on the Mii menu while the remaining Miis (minus Floe, Gonta, and Shirou) cower off to the sides.
Eleven of you are left. You have made it past the 'keep ten alive to the start of week 7' warning that Red gave, but what will happen now? Is this it? Is this who will survive? Or will more death happen? And what's going to happen to the dead?
A lot of questions still need answering.

Hey, you got a sec?
no subject
--Anyway, Lenka blinks and tilts his head a little from where he was hiding to look up at Marisa. If she's shut her book, it is probably important?]
What is it?
no subject
I wanna talk. For a bit. Can you come outside for a few?
no subject
Yes.
[It's a pretty swift reply. It's good to have an excuse to get out of dodge?? The problem with zombie canoodling is the following: they do not need to breathe.]
no subject
Thanks.
[ She's not...uncomfortable, per se, but a little antsy. Once she shuts the door behind them, Marisa takes a seat on the steps outside. ]
I've been thinkin' about things. I wanna stay optimistic and think 'we're gonna get outta here and everythin's gonna be okay', but I also...want to stay realistic, you know?
So--if somethin' happens to me, I don't want to have any regrets.
no subject
He blinks curiously when she thanks him for heading out with her, since it seems more like a formality when they've actually lived with each other for such a long period of time. But he'll let it pass, focusing quietly on what she has to say.]
A balance, like you said before. [his brows draw down a little, though, mild concern] Did-- something bring this up?
[He almost asked did something happen, but all of today and the entire weekend sure did happen. There's a lot to say about reminders of mortality and other things in there.]
no subject
[ Saying so makes the edge of her smile quirk up just a bit. ]
Lemme ask you--d'you have any plans for if this all works out, and you get to go back home?
no subject
There's a brief hesitation at the question, Lenka looking down for a moment to think it over. His response is slow, measuring out the words.]
... I think, if we can pull this off, I'm going to fight harder back home. [his fingers twitch a little, an almost startled movement like he's just woken up] Live harder. Look harder for a way to change things. I--
[Until he started talking, he hadn't realized he had thought of anything, for after. The end of this camp had always seemed shrouded in either blood or mist or impenetrable darkness. But today -- today they saw some rays of light. A little hope from the dead. It's a little ironic, even if everything he's saying still feels like a pipe dream, deep down.]
--Something like that. You?
no subject
...even if it means I can't be the underdog anymore.
[ It feels more final, saying it out loud. You can be human and be powerful, but humanity has its limits, as proven time and time again by this stupid camp. She's never felt more powerless in her life than she has in her seven weeks here. ]
There's somethin' I wanna do with someone in particular, too, ze.
no subject
[Time, though -- time and underdogs and his concern deepens a little with that particular memory, because he has an inkling of what she's going for, and he's still unsure about it. It's partly his own hang-ups lately, with the effects of the coral and hallucinations running rampant, and partly because of the way she talks about it, like placing a gauntlet down.
They're all getting ready for battle, even though negotiating might be the battlefield they're about to step onto.
She does catch him off guard with that last bit.]
--Something other than magic?
[I'm sorry, he's totally at sea on this because he's an idiot.]
no subject
I guess you could phrase it that way. [ wink wonk ] But yeah. I wanna ask someone out.
no subject
He's kind of real blockheaded but smack him with the room long enough and he might pick it up and read it. Hm.]
... Marisa?
[This probably isn't another case of someone wanting to tell him their canoodling plans for some godforsaken reason, right.]
no subject
[ getting up from the steps and walking a bit closer ]
no subject
Hmm. I don't know how many of us want to see more ghosts after this. But the Garden of the Sun sounds like a good place, if we get out of here.
no subject
[ a pause, one step closer. ]
I'd like you to go with me, Lenka. [ a pause ] On a date. Just to make that clear.
no subject
So it's probably easy for her to see the slow flush, soft and surprised; he'd expected... the topic itself, he'd be a fool not to after the trend this last week or so. He just hadn't expected the target. It's a really good thing she clarified to the point of no return here.]
Marisa. [he tugs momentarily at his cape, a rare fidget] I-- It's--
[The same part of him still running off on tangents marvels a little at how cleverly she approached this. There are ten thousand buts right off the bat and a good bouquet of them end at the end of camp. The rest of him is still playing catch-up.]
I didn't realize.
no subject
Of course you didn't. But the obliviousness is pretty cute itself.
no subject
I just didn't really think about it. With everything. [is it a little bit petulant? Totally -- people keep calling him cute for mysterious reasons here and it's both embarrassing and confusing] Just... it was hard to tell, because you, with Ichigo and everyone...
[He's peeking back at her and looking like he's embarrassed he has to go into this?? He's not used to people being into him at all, especially here, when so much of the dating scene is flying over his head and around him like water off a... flying fish? This analogy got away from me. Anyway, the point is: and then there's people like Marisa, who seem like they could go wherever they want and as far as they want.
He's not looking for reassurances, not exactly (maybe a little), but he is curious. Everything about this and the way it works here is new to him.]
no subject
I'm just vocal about what I appreciate, ze. Ichigo's easy on the eyes, but I don't like him like that. [ although he does fit her type, which is, at this point "really smart girls and oblivious blushy boys" ]
no subject
[He still sounds a little uncertain, but Marisa is in good company here among the flirting champions of the world, and it's not like Lenka knows all that much better because he is also surrounded by quirky serial flirts back home. What are all the people in his life teaching him about love and romance, honestly.
Someday he'll get the concept of eyecandy. Until then there's just a faint frown as he contemplates seriously philosophical questions, such as whether Ichigo's popularity is some sort of ability, or if it's just another version of Mitsuru. But a different shade of redhead. Hm.
Ah, he got distracted from the point. That is to say, they distracted themselves from the point.]
... You were there yesterday. [and now he drags his gaze back to meet Marisa's, still a touch shy but searching] We don't know how this will end. If you're sure...
[He's not going to insult Marisa by implying she doesn't know exactly what she wants (she does, probably), but there are so many things that can go wrong. The souls, Archer, the Illemonati especially. It's so hard to promise anything from where they are. It's... not a no, though.]
no subject
I'm sure. [ a nod ] That's why I said somethin' at all. If stuff goes downhill--well, I'll be glad I talked to ya.
no subject
[Legit question here, he has no idea how witches work, just that Marisa is a flashy and resourceful witchy witch of flying and fireworks: someone who makes her own way and is somehow willing to bring him along. But he does hear her offer -- and despite his confusion and the uncertainty of what they're trying to do he hears the weight behind it, her willingness to bet on whatever this is.
Whatever the camp will leave them once it's over.
Lenka is still kind of red in the face, but he does shuffle a little bit closer, looking thoughtful and nervous at once. It's some kind of multitasking.]
--I just, don't really know what I'm doing. [which might not apply just to the dating thing, but definitely does apply to it in particular; but then he's never been very good at the parts of life that others take for granted] But if-- I don't want to have regrets, either. So... we can. Do what you said.
[He's good at this.]
no subject
[ Wink wonk. That's about as non-cryptic as she can explain it, anyways. ]
That's okay, I can be the experienced one. [ har har har. Is her face getting a little red, too, or is it just the light...? ]
What, go on a date? [ a little laugh ] Of course, but...I like spendin' time with you general, yanno?
no subject
[It's an unusual title, but he likes the sound and boldness of it; it fits her, even if the whole winking thing that seems to come along with it is really going to start flustering him now that he knows the intent behind it. It reminds him a little of a moment a couple of months ago (a lifetime and an entirely different body ago), when he'd been in a very different place.
We are hope. The words feel a little faded and shorn in places, more than a little of the foundation ripped out, but he still believes in them. And in all the confusion and the whirlwind of today, this moment, it's what he thinks of.]
I like it. [even if, yeah, he's all red again from getting winked at and the fact that he can tell she's red, his eyesight is a little too keen] But I'll, uh, do my best to learn. And figure it out. I. We can spend time. We should make the most of our time.
[Don't mind his babbling, really, the point is that they have a little over a week left, and death is still waiting around every corner. He's here for this. #yolo]
no subject
She nods, but doesn't say anything else. It's one of those moments where she feels like opening her mouth might ruin things.
...if he doesn't shy away, though, she'll give him a quick peck on the cheek. :') ]
