Week 8
The weekend passes in a blue, and suddenly it is Monday again. Monday of week 8, the final week of camp. The last week to try and change your fate.
It's sunny and pleasant, with daytime temperatures lingering around 70 degrees Fahrenheit and dropping off into the 50s in the evening. It's pretty much the perfect weather for Michigan, and it's only a shame that it took this long to get to it.
The WiiU continues to be broken, though the creepy Mii is gone now. All of the Miis are, actually. All that can be seen is a variety of Pure Michigan ads, interestingly enough. A bit calmer than last week's visuals, but probably annoying since no games can be played.
There is one other notable change about camp: the counselors are nowhere to be found. There is plenty of food and some note left on how to run things, but otherwise the campers have been left to their own devices apparently.
On the main door to the lodge is a note that says "We will be back as soon as possible." written in Red's handwriting. What could this mean?

Then we'll just have to make sure we can keep their souls in tact.
[There's that stubbornness again, that drive that had been smothered under the weight of responsibility just yesterday.]

[ He opens up the door to the cabin to let Mittens in. ]

[It's got him looking curiously even as he enters the cabin. Was. Was there anywhere in particular he was supposed to dump these or.]

Mittens gets to hear the truth because it's him. ]
Mother had us gather the souls of the dead. I know I can store them.

Well, it isn't as though he's completely inexperienced when it comes to dealing with souls, either.]
How?
no subject
Like this. [ Then he makes it disappear. ] We aren't supposed to talk about it, but Lenka is right. The bastards running this place probably know everything about us.
[ Which is another reason he wants to take them all down. ]
no subject
[So, yeah, good assumption there.]
Where are you storing it when you do that? And is there anything needed to collect them in the first place?
this is the most srs thinking nine has ever been
But it's more useful the more that's shared. ]
Mother augmented out souls, yo. It's like... you know how I told you about the crystal? She made it so we didn't need it. [ Tapping his chest where the soul should be housed. ] We can produce our own magic using our own souls instead. That's where everything gets stored, too.
Keep up, Nine
[That sounds... bad? The spells he knows aren't nearly so complex, which is saying something when said spells still involved controlling other souls.]
So basically... if we come across their souls, you should be able to collect them and store them in your own until you needed to take them out again. Is that correct?
no subject
Yeah. It'll probably be easier while they aren't in their bodies.
[ Since that...would be messy. ]
I'll ask Red about it, yo. To make sure I can still do it.
no subject
I can't do anything that delicate with souls, myself. We'll need to make sure that even if you can retrieve them, they can still be placed into bodies safely after.
[But this is more the worry of someone whose closest experience with this is simply allowing a soul to be eaten and sent who-knows-where.]
In... theory, it seems... sound.
no subject
I don't know if I would call it delicate... [ It's a thing.
And Nine's experience is magic crafting with souls and also handing them to scientists for whatever? ]
A little surprised though. Thought Ichigo was the only one with soul experience here, yo.
[ Well, besides himself. ]

There's some spells that require a human component. I came across them during my studies, so I know about it in theory, but...
[He hasn't tried the spells.
Yet.]
