WEEK 8

The weekend passes in a blue, and suddenly it is Monday again. Monday of week 8, the final week of camp. The last week to try and change your fate.

It's sunny and pleasant, with daytime temperatures lingering around 70 degrees Fahrenheit and dropping off into the 50s in the evening. It's pretty much the perfect weather for Michigan, and it's only a shame that it took this long to get to it.

The WiiU continues to be broken, though the creepy Mii is gone now. All of the Miis are, actually. All that can be seen is a variety of Pure Michigan ads, interestingly enough. A bit calmer than last week's visuals, but probably annoying since no games can be played.

There is one other notable change about camp: the counselors are nowhere to be found. There is plenty of food and some note left on how to run things, but otherwise the campers have been left to their own devices apparently.

On the main door to the lodge is a note that says "We will be back as soon as possible." written in Red's handwriting. What could this mean?

[They're all still picking themselves back up in the wake of each weekend and each series of hits -- whether it's a death or whether it's just being slowly stripped of every coping mechanics you picked up in far different places -- and it's a continuous process without end in sight. Even with the camp supposedly coming to a close of some kind... it's going to take a while for it to end for them.

If they're still here to see it.

He obligingly dishes himself a bowl of curry, because he's hungry enough not to be polite; it's a smaller portion than you'd expect for his size and activity levels, because some habits die hard even in the wake of common courtesy.]

Okay. [cue blowing on the curry before taking a big mouthful] ... Mmph. It's really good curry. And it's...

[Funny? What does SP restoration feel like for the nonmagical, anyway. It's a little invigorating despite the fact that he definitely burned himself eating too fast already.]

Feels energizing, right? It's weird, Boss' curry and coffee always feels like that in the Metaverse. I was curious if it'd do the same here too.

[He rests his chin on his hand, watching Lenka curiously]

[He makes a brief face after he's done with half the bowl, but it's more because he's trying to get some feeling back in his tongue; it's probably not all that spicy, he's just hungry enough not to care about how much it burns in terms of temperature or spice. He'll eat slower from now on, though, to really get at the taste.

It... wakes you up. [and probably would even better if it were spicier] I didn't think about curry for breakfast. Your Boss... did you work with food?
