WEEK 8

The weekend passes in a blue, and suddenly it is Monday again. Monday of week 8, the final week of camp. The last week to try and change your fate.

It's sunny and pleasant, with daytime temperatures lingering around 70 degrees Fahrenheit and dropping off into the 50s in the evening. It's pretty much the perfect weather for Michigan, and it's only a shame that it took this long to get to it.

The WiiU continues to be broken, though the creepy Mii is gone now. All of the Miis are, actually. All that can be seen is a variety of Pure Michigan ads, interestingly enough. A bit calmer than last week's visuals, but probably annoying since no games can be played.

There is one other notable change about camp: the counselors are nowhere to be found. There is plenty of food and some note left on how to run things, but otherwise the campers have been left to their own devices apparently.

On the main door to the lodge is a note that says "We will be back as soon as possible." written in Red's handwriting. What could this mean?

[Twelve. He'll hold out the cup for cream because it's awful but now he's committed.]

A little of both? I like it, but I also drank it every morning for a year. Sometimes with dinner too. So might just be my taste buds have mutated.

[He adds a lot of cream for the poor child]

Are you sure they mutated? It sounds to me like they just died.

[Blech. He takes a smaller sip to taste the cream - yeah, it's an improvement, at least.

Enough for him to just. Drink the rest in one go. There, done, now he never has to drink coffee ever again.]

Ah, my cafe sensei would be sad if he heard that.

[He can't even really protest because now his entire mouth tastes like coffee?? Cursed. Once he's put the cup down, he places a hand over his mouth, grimacing.]

I actually worked in the cafe I was living above while on probation. Sojiro-san, Boss, taught me how to brew coffee and make curry, and I did dishes and stuff to help pay my board. Like an apprenticeship.

You didn't learn how to make it taste very good.

[Important things. But ugh, maybe the curry will help get the taste out of his mouth...]

[He laughs even harder]

I guess I can't be good at everything.

Did it help with your magical energy at least?

[He pauses in reaching for the plate of food, tilting his head curiously.]

...I didn't notice a difference.

[...Although--]

It takes a lot for me to run out.

Hmm... maybe that kind of thing doesn't carry over. I know the coffee worked in the Metaverse when I went here.

[He shrugs, though he still looks thoughtful.]

I haven't used much magic today, and- well, I could fly a boat over an ocean and still have plenty of magic leftover.

It could be either or - it doesn't work the way it did in your metaverse, or it's not enough to help me much.
