Final Investigation
Friday starts as usual, with everyone waking up and starting to move about. The morning is cool, with the last bits of the night's dew starting to evaporate in the early sunlight. But as the living campers start to move about, they will notice two important details:
One: the zombie campers are nowhere to be found.
Two: there is a note pinned to the front door of the lodge that reads "It's time. Investigate the camp, find out the truth. Why are you here, and what do you need to do to leave? We will be at the campfire tomorrow at noon."
Well then. It's time to get to work.
CAMPERS REMAINING: 7
REMEMBER: every living camper needs 15 comments minimum in this post to qualify for 'good end'!

[The way Archer probably is too, but he’s a dick about it so he doesn’t get a pass. Hm.]
We might meet them soon, if they’re willing to act
[The curiosity really is terrible, but sometimes you have to let sleeping dogs lie. So. Yeah, how about those interview files?]
no subject
Take your pick.]
no subject
Wh-??
[YEAH HE'S CLICKING THAT ONE]
no subject
[SHE WANTS 4M, BUT. FOR NOW, SHE'LL BE PATIENT]

[It’s pretty easy to judge by the other two’s reactions, when they’re all crowded in. Lenka glances at them a little uncertainly, but turns his attention back to the screen. What new horrors do the videos have for us today. What did y’all do.]
no subject
The man notices the behavior and scribbles a few things on the clipboard before starting with the questions.]
Subject 3C, how are you feeling today?
What’s going on? Who are you? [Chuuta’s not going to answer that question until after he gets some answers himself.]
I am an intake interviewer here and we need to complete this interview before I can answer any questions. So, how are you feeling today?
Where am I? [He asks. He’s trying this one more time. Maybe if he’s persistent, they’ll see he wants answers and won’t give them anything until he gets something in return.]
You are at our facilities. [The man checks off a box on his sheet before rewording his question.] Are you in any pain currently?
[There’s a pause, because he knows how he’s feeling but Drew’s also reporting to him.]
No. [He needs to keep asking questions, even though he’s confused and nervous.] Why am I here?
[The man marks off a checkbox on his paper.]
Good, good. You’re here for admittance into our program, and we want to check on your condition before we continue with the intake process. Now, do you notice any changes to your body? Vision problems, limited movement?
[Another pause, Chuuta listening to Drew for confirmation of what he already knows. He stretches a little bit, wrings his hands nervously, and nods.]
I think I’m fine. What program?
[More checkmarks. Apparently Chuuta’s answers are what is expected, since the interviewer isn’t making more notes.]
We’re borrowing you from your usual division. There’s a job that we need your special talents for. Do you recall the conversation you had with one of our agents prior to coming here?
Wh-what are you talking about? I didn’t talk to anyone! Nobody told me I was going anywhere! [He’s not mentioning aliens yet.]
I’ll need you to calm down, 3C. Temporary memory loss is common in transit. It should come back before the end of the day. But for now, what is the last thing you do remember?
… I was coming home from school. [He says, but he’s not a very good liar.] Why are you calling me that?
That is your designation for this assignment. We can’t use your real name, for safety reasons.
[This time the man does write something down on his clipboard.]
Is that all you remember? Or is there anything else? Also, what does your ‘tagalong’ remember?
[Chuuta’s eyes go wide, and he stands up, knocking his chair back.]
Who are you? What’s going on? If you’re with ēlCivilization then you know you can’t just kidnap me somewhere! Chief Lane didn’t tell me anything about any other assignment!
[At Chuuta’s outburst, the two armed men tense up and start to move, but the interviewer waves them down.]
Please, sit down. We need to finish the intake interview.
[Chuuta sits down, cautiously. He’s watching the interviewer and Drew is out and watching the guards.]
If Mothers authorized this, you should be able to prove it, right? [Chuuta asks, after a pause where Drew suggests the question.] If Mothers didn’t authorize this, you’re just criminals and I’m not going to work with you.
[The interviewer pauses, and he presses at his ear and leans over slightly, as if he is listening to an earpiece. He nods once before returning to his previous position.]
Noncompliance will not be accepted here. Will you finish the intake interview?
Yeah, they are. [He says, agreeing with whatever Drew just told him.] You can’t just kidnap a member of the space police and think you’ll get away with it!
[The interviewer sighs and makes a note on his clipboard.]
We’ll try again later, then. Escort him back to his room.
[The two guards move in. One keeps his gun ready, but the other puts it on his back so he has his hands free to grab for Chuuta.]
Wings! [Chuuta yelps, as soon as the guards start moving. He’s going to try and dodge them, and head for the door. Unless they’ve got some kind of super speed, they’ll find it almost impossible to catch him.
And then the door’s locked. He stops, frozen for a second as he and Drew try and decide what to do next.]
[The interviewer ducks down as soon as Chuuta starts flying, and once Chuuta stops at the door the man with the gun is going to level it at him and fire. Luckily it contains darts, not bullets, but that could be just as bad depending on what’s in it. (It’s knockout drugs this time)]
Freeze! [Chuuta decides, and Drew fires a blast from his mouth that solidifies into ice, freezing the guard’s hand to his gun. Not fast enough to keep him from firing though, and Drew’s attention is turned to trying to freeze the other guard’s gun into his holster, which means Chuuta doesn’t have the superhuman speed he would need to dodge that shot.
As soon as the dart hits, Chuuta tries to pull it out, but it’s probably already too late.]
[It is indeed too late if the dart hits. Even if it’s pulled out, the medicine inside will take effect and knock Chuuta out within 10 seconds. During which time the man with the frozen hand starts screaming because his hand is, well, frozen.]
[Ten seconds isn’t a lot of time, but it’s enough for Chuuta to at least try and get this door open.]
Slice! [He says, and there’s a blast of SPH from Drew’s mouth aimed at the door to try and cut it. It probably won’t work (his SPH struggles to get through anything more solid than a pane of glass) but he’s desperate and already starting to feel the effects of the drug.]
You can’t do this! I won’t work with you!
[Ultimately it is a futile effort though, as the drugs are strong. The interviewer climbs out from under the table as soon as the danger passes and he just sighs once more.]
It’s always the younger ones who fight. A shame, we could have used his skills elsewhere.
[And then, to the remaining guard who isn’t having trouble with ice:]
Wipe his memory, and take him to the camp group.
[And that is where the video ends.]
no subject
What?
[Drew doesn't remember that either.]
[Chuuta doesn't like this, doesn't like watching himself struggle uselessly in desperate confusion.
Someone else is going to need to pick the next video.]
no subject
. . . will you choose 4M? [a pause] They likely eradicated your memories afterwards. We've seen that, with Red.
no subject
[Lenka nods, a gesture for both Chuuta and Drew, one eyebrow slightly raised at the various contents of the video but mostly just a mild reaction to sudden bullshit power #545. Whatever space police is, they can worry about that later...?]
It was said that we were brought here either voluntarily or involuntarily. This must have been for deciding that. [and there’s the possibility that they’d wanted Chuuta-and-Drew for something else altogether, but he doesn’t bring that up at this point] We can look at 4M.
[There are no L’s here, so he doesn’t have a particular preference.]
no subject
The interviewer waits a bit to see if Mitsuru says anything first, but then he goes ahead and starts the interview.]
3M-
[He frowns, and he looks at his papers more closely.]
My apologies. 4M. How are you feeling today?
[And this is where he gets mouthy as usual.]
Who are you and where have you brought me?
You are here for your intake interview, and I am the interviewer. How are you feeling today?
That answers nothing. Who. Are. You?
[Defiance. Anger. But caution, too, are visible in his expression.]
If you are looking for a specific name, then I am sorry to say that I cannot give you one. We use designations here, to protect everyone’s identities. You may call me ‘1Z’ if you wish though. Are you currently in any pain? Do you have any limitations to your mobility?
Kids aren't supposed to talk to strangers, you know.
And yet you are talking to me right now.
[That gets an arched eyebrow followed by silence.]
4M, I would like to get through this interview sometime today. There are many others I still have to get to besides you. Please answer the question.
[Mitsuru gives a disgusted look.]
You've given me no reason to.
The sooner we get through this interview, the sooner we can send you back to your world to finish your quest. Do you WANT to delay that any more than necessary?
[Silence. Registering that. And then:]
What do you know about me?
Enough to know that you do not want to be kept away from your home for too long. You have a lot to lose by that, don’t you?
[Another short silence, eyes narrowed.]
...Do you really plan to allow me back to that world after this?
[He clearly has his doubts, eyes flicking towards the guards briefly.]
It is a possibility, should you want that. Some stay here, others choose to go home. Which do you want?
As you said, there are things I must do. I’d need all my belongings back as well though.
We will give you your staff once you are taken to the work site. Everything else will be returned to you when it is time for you to go home.
[The interviewer flips through his notes, checking a few things.]
We certainly could have use of someone as strong as you. Are you sure you don’t want to stay on in a more permanent position? Otherwise you will be assigned to an eight-week camp.
[Surprise, and then fury.]
Answering questions is much different from eight weeks. What's this about a camp? “Assigned?”
Everyone who works here is assigned to a position. The summer camp is the shortest assignment we can give out to someone your age. It truly is a waste of your potential and ability, but if you want to get home fast then it is probably the fastest way to do so.
You've brought me to another world, and now you expect me to work for you?
Well, yes. [He says that like he’s surprised to even hear the question.]
[Mitsuru, meanwhile, is stunned to silence. When he finally speaks, his voice is quiet.]
What are you trying to make me do?
This Organization has three simple goals: Secure. Contain. Protect. You are quite strong and could help us fulfill any of those goals, but if you go to summer camp then you will be helping us with the ‘contain’ part.
And what does that actually entail?
Staying at the camp for eight weeks and making sure that anything within the camp doesn’t get out. When the eight weeks are done, you will get to leave.
What is included in “anything?” For wanting my help, you're being very vague.
[Something that's got him fairly annoyed by now.]
Anything means anything. Wildlife, people, anything that might be there. If it’s in the camp, it needs to stay at the camp until the eight weeks are over. You would be there as a backup to support the counselors if anything went wrong, basically. They will handle most of the work, but we need contingency plans in place in case anything goes wrong.
Of course, if that is not agreeable to you, then we can put you on another assignment. But that is the shortest assignment we have.
[He spends a long moment considering this.]
What's stopping me from finding my own way back? Eight weeks is a long time, and I don't remember owing you anything.
I might not even have that much time to spare.
Then I suggest you don’t waste time trying to find your own way back, and instead work with us. You could leave and try to find your own way back, and knowing your abilities you might succeed, but it will take you a lot longer than eight weeks.
And yet I still have no idea how you supposedly know any of this.
The Foundation has its ways of getting its information.
And you expect me to believe you?
You can believe whatever you like. But if you choose not to cooperate, then we will be forced to treat you as an uncooperative subject rather than a willing agent. Think carefully, 4M, because I am not going to offer it to you again. Your choices are camp, another assignment, or imprisonment.
[His eyes narrow into a glare, thinking it over, running through the various possibilities. But after a very, very long moment, he finally spits:]
Fine.
Finally, Christ. At least one of you has the sense to not attack us.
[The interviewer scribbles some more notes on his clipboard.]
We will begin processing the paperwork now. Camp starts at the end of the week. You will be able to stay here until it is time to move to the camp. Now then, should you need any accommodations…
[The video probably continues on from there, but that’s where it cuts off.]
[One left to go!]
no subject
There's something from Drew, a sort of annoyance that they weren't offered a choice.]
[That's the final protocol.]
Huh? What do you mean? What's the final protocol?
[He's making sure that nothing in the camp gets out.]
Shit! He signed up for it! [Of course he did]
no subject
. . . it was not informed consent.
[the video makes that painfully obvious]
He was deceived. Will you choose 2S next?
no subject
[There’s no way to tell for sure what happened with the rest of them, but if Soma was here, then Lenka has a sinking feeling he knows what could have happened had he been given his own interview. It hadn’t reached the level of any final protocols, certainly, but there are prices all of them are willing to pay for certain things. Murder. Contracts with shady organizations. But of course Mitsuru (not appearing in this video) is also right.]
I don’t think either of them lied to us all these eight weeks. They lived through it all with us.
[Lived and died, and he intends to keep Mitsuru alive. There’s been enough death, and turning on each other.]
2S, Chuuta.
no subject
He looks around in confusion before stopping to glare at the man sitting opposite him. Despite clearly having many questions, he remains silent, waiting for an explanation.
When Shirou falls silent and waits, the interviewer speaks up.]
Subject 2S, how are you feeling today?
[Shirou raises his brows, still confused but trying to downplay it.]
Where am I?
You are at our facilities. How are you feeling today?
Pissed off, mostly. Whose facilities? The Clocktower?
[The interviewer makes a note, then asks the question again in a slightly different form.]
That is not unexpected, but how do you feel physically? Any pain? Any limited mobility?
No, I feel fine. Who are you people? What’s going on?
[The man checks off a box on the sheet.]
We are conducting intake interviews. You are a magus in need of training, aren’t you? This is the first step to receiving that training. Now, what do you recall happening just before this interview?
[While he’s still trying to maintain an unconcerned look, Shirou’s starting to grow more and more worried.]
So you are with the Mages’ Association? I didn’t know you made a habit of kidnapping prospective students.
[The interviewer pauses for a moment before continuing.]
I suppose you are having memory troubles then? It’s a common side-effect of the method of travel we used to get you here. You should recall everything within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, we would like to continue the intake interview. So what is the last thing you remember happening?
I… I was on my way to school with Tohsaka. Uh, Rin Tohsaka - you know, the Second Owner of Fuyuki? She knows I’m here, right?
Yes, she does. She went through this process once as well.
Really? She never mentioned anything about hospital rooms or memory loss or anything like that.
[From the glance he shoots at the guards, it’s clear Shirou had not been expecting them either.]
Probably because she thought she had more time before this interview happened. Unfortunately, we are short on time at the moment. So, let us continue: what spells can you currently do?
Uh… just basic stuff. Strengthening and projection. My dad never taught me a lot, and he didn’t give me his magic crest, so…
[The interviewer scribbles down a few notes there.]
That is alright, it’s more than many start with. Now we-
[The interviewer pauses for a moment as he reads a note on his paper.]
...huh. Interesting. It looks like there is a special note on your file here. Are you familiar with someone named ‘Archer’?
...Archer? What does he have to do with any of this? He was Tohsaka’s Servant, not mine. Unless you mean the other Archer, but… you guys got reports on everything that happened from the Church, right? So why are you asking me?
Oh no, that other Archer is not who we mean. You had it right the first time. What do you know about him?
Nothing. I don’t think even Tohsaka ever found out his true name. Look, if this is about the Holy Grail War, we really did include everything in the reports. I can’t tell you anything more.
[The man writes down some more notes.]
Alright, this will do. With your powers as they are now, we’ll need to send you to the camp first. It’s an eight-week summer camp that should start strengthening your magic. Does this sound agreeable to you?
A… summer camp? Since when do you have summer camps?
We have a wide variety of sites. This summer camp is probably the most appropriate for your current abilities. It’s meant to be a relaxed setting for studying magic.
Huh. I guess that’s okay, then?
[Despite his agreement, Shirou sounds skeptical.]
Very well then. We will begin processing the paperwork and get you set up to go to camp. Will you please go with these escorts to the waiting room?
[That is where the video cuts out.]
[That's it for videos! Now they can choose closet or extra stuff.]
no subject
And then Shirou's video comes on the screen, and Drew tells him to be quiet so he can watch.
......... Shirou... didn't even notice how suspicious the whole thing was.]
no subject
[she'd say more, but now isn't the time to argue. especially as Shirou's video. . . plays. . .]
[BOY. . .]
[with a shake of her head, Mitsuru steps away, and moves towards Red's closet]
He can hardly be blamed for the deception on the part of the organization. They're the ones at fault, here.
no subject
For now, he’s going to shake his head in concern over Shirou — but if what he’d talked about, regarding his own magic and world, were any indication then he’s still a novice at it. This is an organization that they’ve seen be professionals at hoodwinking people. Shirou just... apparently had some enthusiasm for magic somewhere before the murder pileup.]
There are things all of us would have agreed for, I think. If they could have forced us to.
[That’s all he’ll say on the matter before folllowing Mitsuru (trust) to the closet at a small distance. She can pioneer this, as agreed.]
no subject
There's a few things to see in here, actually! And you're getting a whole list because lol time.
- A book on morse code
- two pieces of paper with stuff written on them
- enough drugs to knock out camp several times over if need be
- Saunter, sleeping in a pile of clothes
There's also clothes and stuff but those are the only interesting items you'll find unless you're raiding Red's clothes too.
Care to read the papers?]
no subject
Actually, no, Chuuta's "pet small fluff creature" instincts are pretty firmly held under control by the existence of the marshmallow alien attached to him. Drew's a good target for all of those instincts.
He pockets some of the drugs though. There's still some for the other two to take as well. And then he's going to look through those papers.]
no subject
no subject
Lenka’s ‘pet the fluff’ instincts are being sorely tested throughout the camp. It’s a good thing Drew’s not out all the time. Anyway, he... definitely stops to give Saunter a gentle poke and a pet if she wakes up, because they haven’t seen her in a while and it’s good to know the moose hasn’t eaten her or whatever. He’ll then follow Chuuta’s lead and pocket some drugs because #yolo at the end of the line. And it’s not like he hasn’t done this before, Mitsuru can’t judge him too much.
Since everyone else’s hands are full, he’s going to keep petting Saunter absently while looking over their shoulders.......]
no subject
Saunter makes a 'mrrrr?' noise and looks up at Lenka when he pokes her.
The first paper contains the following:]
Item #: SCP-6732
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6732 is under direct command of O5- ███ . 6732 has direct and immediate access to all O5 and lower security clearance. SCP-6732 is allowed to come and go as he pleases and create/send out task forces as required, and should not be impeded by personnel in the case of emergency or containment breech.
SCP-6732 is not to come in contact with any sword-based SCPs. After incidents on [REDACTED] it has been noted that he is susceptible to possession by intelligent objects, and given his fascination with swords he is at risk of [REDACTED]. The previously mentioned incidents ended without a loss of SCP-6732, but it is best not to present further risk if possible.
Decription: SCP-6732, formerly S█████ Em███ , is a Japanese male around his late 20's to early 30's of age. The subject is in good physical health, with a muscled build. He has white hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. He commonly wears black underarmor with a red coat around the foundation.
SCP-6732 was originally an instance of SCP-6350 during the summoning for the [REDACTED] round of SCP-6219's ritual. Upon waking up on site, SCP-6732 immediately quelled a containment breech that broke out shortly after. 6732 then immediately asked to see 'the person in charge of all of this.' The [REDACTED][DATA EXPUNGED][REDACTED][REDACTED] and has been a member of the Foundation ever since.
The subject is what is known as a 'Counter Guardian', and displays an ability to accurately predict the appearance or containment breech of SCP's that could potentially threaten humanity and work towards containment or termination of said dangerous SCP's. As such, SCP-6732 has prevented multiple world-wide cataclysmic events and stopped multiple █████ -class containment breeches. Due to 6732's success at prevention and containment, the subject was reclassified as Thaumiel on █ █ - █ █ - █ █ █ █ . SCP-6732's abilities do not work on more harmless or safe SCPs, as 6732 claims the force he contracted with is only concerned with threats towards humanity.
SCP-6732 has superhuman abilities far beyond the normal human; enhanced sight, lightning fast reflexes, and above average strength have been recorded, as well as an ability to turn invisible. 6732 can summon weapons seemingly from nowhere to use in combat, and prefers to fire them at targets through use of a bow. These weapons can range anywhere from normal broadswords to spears, and can be explosive depending on which is use. Observation has determined more then ten unique weapons, with potentially hundreds or thousands more. In addition, 6732 is able to impose a different reality upon a wide space, normally centrallized around him and whoever he is facing against. SCP-6732 has used this reality to contain SCPs when needed, as well as mount an offensive against particularly threatening ones.
[The other paper is a form that is partially filled out. It seems to be a request form of some sort, and Red's name is on it. The 'current classification' is listed as 'euclid', and the 'new classification' is listed as 'Thaumiel'.]
no subject
Oh, yeah, it is. He's... he's really strong, isn't he. [Not that Chuuta was seriously considering trying to fight Archer, but... he was considering trying to fight Archer.]
no subject
[all of this information. . . some of the things Red told her in the past are starting to come together]
Emiya and I had theorized on why Archer-- a Counter Guardian, someone meant to protect humanity-- would be involved with this organization.
I suppose this explains why.
[glances at the second paper]
Was Red contemplating requesting a status change?
no subject
[But he’s still a little uncertain what that means for Archer’s status.
He’s here willingly, obeying his Organization Master, but his original purpose is something else. It’s still debatable how much or how they can trust him in any sense. But knowing all of this — something else is starting to make sense. He’s searching through his memories for a long ago text, still petting Saunter’s ears thoughtfully.]
... Kirijo, you had Red’s phone. Someone in there wanted her to request a change in classification to match their own.
[DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW WHAT BAE MEANS this is killing me.]
