FINAL INVESTIGATION

Friday starts as usual, with everyone waking up and starting to move about. The morning is cool, with the last bits of the night's dew starting to evaporate in the early sunlight. But as the living campers start to move about, they will notice two important details:

One: the zombie campers are nowhere to be found.

Two: there is a note pinned to the front door of the lodge that reads "It's time. Investigate the camp, find out the truth. Why are you here, and what do you need to do to leave? We will be at the campfire tomorrow at noon."

Well then. It's time to get to work.

[ Once he's sure all of it went in, he's snagging out a band-aid to put over the injecting mark as he pulls out the needle. Looking at him for a moment and then leaning in close to bump their foreheads together. ]

Hey, you couldn't control it. We all were having issues down there.

[ Nine just didn't want to lose any more. ]

But no one else was freaking out like I did. You saved my ass, Nine.

[Fuck head-bumping, Ren is just like, lazily kissing his dumb handsome face cuz he can]

[ That's definitely something he can do. He forgets for a moment he's still holding stuff in his hands as he returns the kiss with a slow one.

And then he'll remember it. Making it all disappear back into his inventory before pulling Ren in closer. ]

It helps that I want that ass, yo.

[ And the whole package. ]

[That line makes Ren bark with laughter. A little hysteric cuz, well, who wouldn't be? But still an honest laugh]

Gross.

[But being held close is nice]

It... god I wish I could say I was scared. But all I was thinking was that I wanted to be with the others. It was the exact reverse- if I went then I could finally stop being scared.

It's funny... that week where I kept slipping away was terrifying. But mostly because, while I was gone, it was... nice. I haven't had nightmares about it, I've had good dreams about it.

[ He chuckles in response. He's feeling tired after everything and knows he's going to be seeing that for a few days when he closes his eyes, feeling the whole fear of losing him...losing them all again.

And it's the opposite for Ren. And that part kind of scares him on it's own. Moving to nuzzle against the side of Ren's head so he doesn't see the face Nine makes. ]

Hey, I'm not going to let you go. I'm going to keep holding on until this is over.

[le_mat]

Nine... thank you. I don't want to go, not really. So... please, keep holding on to me for a little longer, okay?

[ Planting a quick peck against his shoulder. ]

I'll hold you for as long as you need, baby. [ First time he's calling him that. ] You know, I'm glad you don't really want to go.

I don't know if we're really... fake, or not. But either way, we're all kids. It's not fair that we don't get a chance to really live... I'm sticking around even if it's just out of spite.

We aren't fake, yo. Everything we've gone through, everything thing we felt, and all the memories that we made are all real.

[ Leaning back just to try to catch his eye now. ]

You're right though. It's not fair, and I want to show them that.

[ Probably by destruction or figuring out how to stop this from happening to others in the future. ]
