WEEK 6

Last week had been pretty brutal, leaving scars on everyone in camp. A murder driven by paranoia-induced visions, committed by and against two of the youngest members of camp, has left everyone reeling. If this is the way murders will go, what's to happen next?

The humidity is dropping off some, but the heat is staying strong. The campers will need to find new ways to beat the heat. A delivery is due this week though, so maybe the camp's deliveryman will have some ice cream?

The WiiU and current games are all here, but there are no new games. Sorry everyone, you're stuck with what you have. Usagi and Boa are now gone from the Mii menu, but that strange faceless Mii is still there, staring as always. His grin seems to have grown though, and the Mii menu music has changed as well. The other Miis seem scared of the grinny Mii, and they are staying far away from him. Now the only selectable Mii is grin-face. How weird.

The counselors have said they need 'more time' to end this, but just how much time do they need? Can the campers really stall long enough for the counselors to finish their plan? And how does that knowledge sit with them, knowing that each delayed week means less campers will make it in the end?

[It does not really help, it just reminds him that he's talking to a facsimile of Lance who's using anime tropes on him in the middle of a murder camp and honestly what is his life right now.

He runs a hand through his hair and wonders if he should just accept this as another facet of this bizarre reality. Like the continued and inexplicable existence of gay baby jail and related shitposts.]

If you say so. Uh... Do you-- want to hear more.

[He's not sure if he's actually hoping for a yes or a no at this point. Maybe they can all forget about this episode and he can beat a strategic retreat from the chapel until he's replenished his HP stands for Haha Points.]

[He hesitates a little, still, because this is probably the weirdest expectation he's had placed on him. Like, ever. Well, it's fine. Even if he's not sure he wants this to be a whole new side of him -- maybe a corner or something, until they figure the rest of it out.

At least he's found a good way to keep Lance (fake) happy.]

... I don't really have any other type of joke yet. So... knock knock, again?

[Of course Lenka doesn't have more variety in his comedy routines. Somehow Lance doesn't mind that as this is all still so very novel. He doesn't know why Lenka's doing this, but he seems to genuinely appreciate the effort. He smiles and it's less vacant than the ones usually plastered on his face.]

[He did make a promise. And even if this isn't technically... part of the promise at all, he needs the practice for later. Something like that. And he really needs a way to stop this particular coral version from running off all the time; it's very inconvenient.

So at least he's getting somewhere. Lenka's still not sure how to read the dead, but this is a little better than usual.]

[At least the delivery is better this time, even if there's still no real change in inflection. He sounds just a tad bit more confident. And it's just slightly more pointed.]

[ALAS that gets another laugh out of Lance who seems just so genuinely thrilled with these jokes for some reason....

Heck it even gets a bit of quiet clapping.]

Wow. It's like you're evolving right before my eyes. I'm impressed! How'd you know to make a sewing joke anyway? They used to call me "the Tailor" back home for the slick way I could thread through obstacles with a fighter jet.

So what kinda problems can I stitch up for ya?

[Honestly, there's so much enthusiasm that he's momentarily caught off-guard even though the reception has been positive across the board. The whole clapping and additional cheese routine just makes it worse, and he looks a little uncertain before he answers.]

Oh. It was a... lucky guess.

[That's what you usually say in situations like this, right?

Part of his confusion is also because he still doesn't entirely expect to learn sudden details about the person -- they are actual details, he thinks, even if there's sometimes no point of reference -- that they're imitating.]

... I guess I'm just still looking for ways to talk to the god here, in the chapel. [he probably should offer up an easier problem, but that's what's on his mind right now] Can we only do that through singing?
